Give the store a call. Its still about $1000 cheaper as 30% off brings it to about $2800. Vinka is a Japanese design motor.
I'm sure if I give them a call they will be happy to push sell whatever they are selling vs giving a weighed advice. All I'm saying - I'd avoid unknown brands at all costs, and if you want to cheap out - buy a Giant or Trek which are established brands with known reputation (not saying they are great, just known and workable)

For the price of https://www.dragoonbikes.co.nz/shop/p/dragoon-thunder-ii even if it's -30% which brings it to ~3000NZD, what is the benefit getting one of these versus something like https://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/MGEHHN3AA/title/ebig-nin… which would be ~3650NZD with new Synergy code?
I know Merida bikes and Shimano EP8 motors, but I can't say the same for Dragoon and VINKA.
