Just booked - thanks so much for this! I've had removal once before and couldn't believe the difference it made, absolutely amazing.

I think they just got Cheapies'd..

Tried to ring, first time I got in the queue then it said "something's gone wrong, we can't answer your call"

Rang back and it just said "License limit reached, contact your administrator" and hung up lol..

    • Left a VM, they just called me back and booked an appointment.

No longer avaiable in Christchurch got told that all of the allocated spaces is full.

    • I tried and was able to book an appointment here in CHCH

    • Called the number at 11am today and got myself an appointment in Merivale

Cheers, booked an appointment as well, was very quick and they provided some good insight. This is being done with a headset you wear that will spray water into your ears to soften up the wax and then vacuum it out rather than microsuction as others may be used to. Do beware that if you've had surgery on your ear or ear drum that this may not be possible, like I have, however they will inspect it on the day to make a more informed decision but at the very least one ear could be done.

  • I booked in, thanks OP.

Did anyone else get an email saying there's a $49 fee? Not sure if that's just the automatic email that hasn't been changed. I did mention the promotion when I phoned

I was advised to ignore the $49 :)

Not $49 like the confirmation email says, in the system as a complimentary appointment apparently. Also don’t book for this if you’re just seeing “complimentary appointment” only book it if you like have ear wax that you need removed? They will check ur ears before the appointment anyways and won’t do it if u don’t have wax so don’t waste your time and their time just for the sake of it lol

  • Will they charge you $49 for pre-checking your ears?

    • I wasn't charged.

      • What was it like

        • I didn't actually do the wax removal process - my ears were given the 'all clean' at the pre-check stage

  • Has anyone actually had this magic "only company to have this equipment in NZ " remove wax from your ear?
Think its bit of sham. Spoke to few and all said the same thing. They are trying to generate business , advise you ears do not need cleaning hand you a card to book again
One person traveled 1 hr to have his ear checked
Didn't actually follow the 5 step process

    • Thanks for the feedback. I cancelled my appointment after reading this. No time to waste before busy Xmas period.

      • Unsure if it happened in other branches- could have been entirely different for all we know

Just sharing my experience which was good - they followed the 5 steps, clearing both my ears, and were friendly. Obviously it's an attempt to generate business (as with everything on cheapies), but I didn't feel pressured with any upselling or being added to any aggressive marketing list. They simply offered 50% off a full hearing check ($49 instead of $99) if I wanted to do that in the future, but there was no pressure. Took me 25 minutes, and this was the Silverdale branch. I'm happy with the experience, so thanks OP!

  • Just had this done - it didn't really do much to my ears because I had 'sticky wax' so it basically flushed water through my ears but didn't dislodge anything. Unsure on the success rate but if your ears block every year or so due to sticky wax build up you'd probably be better off getting the traditional micro suction at other ear clinics
