I just got this deal from SS Now Support, today . They said its valid till the 28th of Nov.

      Updated. Thank you.

  • +2

Added the promo code to my Annual Subscription and a "NZ$150 Off - Life Time" was added besides the "NZ$100 Off - Year 1". I hope this means I won't need to make a new account (and I keep the $150 off discount forever?)

    • Let me know how it goes please. Same situation… should I add the promo code to my existing plan? What’s the outcome? Thank you in advance.

      • My plan doesn't renew until 5th December, so it will be too late. I might have to email Sky about it to double check.

        • Or create a new account

    • 10% off - Year 1

  • Damn. I locked in an annual pass in June before the price increase and now I'm missing this deal. Probably have to try and find alternatives between June 24 and Nov 24 and get the next black Friday deal

  • +1

This is the same price they sold it for last year during the black Friday sale even though the normal price has gone up.

  • Is this online only, no need for satellite dish or extra box?

    Do they have F1 now?

    • +1

Yes to both questions. Most newer tv's have an app now or you can cast from your phone with a Chromecast etc.

  • +1

Would you reccomend this over a basic Sky box if we only use it for Sky Sport?

    • +1

If you have a smart TV, then I would recommend this over sky sports. You need to load the app onto your tv. We have used it for 2-3 years. Its getting better.

One thing is changing sky channels is harder. it does have pause and rewind, and I think you can watch anything from 48 hours ago. I also watch on my ipad when travelling around NZ..

I purchased the one last year at the same time.

To renew. Go in and activate your plan (I had deactivated mine)

Once activated, you can then add a discount by clicking into the annual pass.

My discount now reads LIFETIME $150. Lets see what happens next year.

    299 is reasonable value..

    • Yeah, I did that too to my ANNUAL PASS. Reactived and then play around then click things until it allowed me to enter the code.
It then showed my YEAR 1 $100 off, YEAR 2 $150 off. Shows my YEAR 1 was expiring 28 Nov 2023, and YEAR 2 as upcoming
I did not get LIFETIME $150

      • Looks like they changed the code, which Wakrak updated. I suspect, anyone who got onboard with the first code got a lifetime 150 off. (Which is so cool if true).

I have just checked my subscription and it is still reading NZ$150 Off Lifetime.

I am so hoping this to be true..

  • Is the picture quality better these days with Sky Sport Now?
I currently piggyback a Sky Go subscription, where my parents only use the decoder and I use the Sky Go app. Sky Go is only available to those with a decoder.
When I compared the two last year (using the free trial when it was available for Sky Sport Now), Sky Go was great but Sky Sport Now had a pretty average picture.

    • SSN picture still sh!t, though watchable through my old eyes

      • +1

Yes, not great, However, I got a new TV, and the scaling and image movement is a lot better. My old TV was a Sony 2018 OLED, and the new one is a 2023 Sony OLED. The picture quality is miles ahead on the newer model for Sky Sports Now.

one area is ball movement in rugby, a lot smoother on the new TV.

FYI, I didn't buy a new TV, my old one broke, so asked them for a new one under the CGA, and Sony agreed.

        • +2

I recommend Sony on the basis they are one of the few companies in NZ that truly honour the law and spirit of the CGA.

I had a 4-5yr old Sony AV receiver STR-DN1080 with intermittent video / audio dropouts - Sony fixed for free, no arguing and hassle free. Buy Sony on that basis alone haha.

  • Ended up being BLACKFRIDAY23 that worked for me. Cheers!

    • Looks like they changed the code for some reason. Will update now.

  • My subscription ends 28 Nov, so I just added the promo code, and it now says NZ$150 off year 2. Unfortunately not lifetime like some others seemed to get. Was that a different code?

    • I go the same as you

  • Mine expires June next year and I have also been able to add BLACKFRIDAY23 and it shows a $150 discount for Year two

    • Sweet 👍. Thanks for that. Hope it gets honoured

      • I screenshot mine to make sure
