Is this brand any good?
I saw Wall Oven yesterday prized at $560 for a 4-function oven.
Also looking at a dryer as well

I just bought the 9KG version of the dryer.
I did a fair bit of research before purchasing it, and it was down to the Haier and the Samsung 9kg Bespoke Heat Pump Dryer (https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/samsung-9kg-bespoke-heat-pum…). What sold me on the Haier was the reversible tumble feature which the Samsung models didn't have (a lot of reports of the Samsung balling up bed sheets and not drying them). Reverse tumble is the winner.
Both had Wifi, but honestly, it doesn't do much other than give you usage reports and notifications it's finished.
There was a review from someone who owned the Haier 6 months on, and they were saying how condensation builds up in the space between the inner touch control display and the clear plastic on the top, which caused them issues and button unresponsiveness.
After a full cycle, I have noticed a small amount of condensation trapped in the left hand corner of the display near the removable water tank, however this disappeared when it wasn't used. I'm pretty sure this is caused by the heated water in the plastic tank (you can see a small amount of condensation sitting on the pull out handle of the tank in the front after a load which you can wipe off). I'm now draining the water into a bucket to see if that has any effect on condensation.
Anyway, I haven't used it a lot, but bed sheets come out dry, clothes have come out dry, and the notification on my phone that the dryer has finished is handy.
I also noticed that there's a Midea 9KG with similar features and cheaper, but I'm a bit unsure about the brand.

+1 for Sheets mode, its great. Wish it becomes standard on all driers.
Funny thing is, reverse tumbling seems to be quite common for a lot of brands around the $1.5k price range. Not sure why Samsung didn't include it in their designs. If they had reverse tumbling, I would have bought it without hesitation.
It's not as easy as that. The motor needs a big kick to get it spinning at the beginning, which is provided by a big capacitor. Which it faili g is almost 100% guaranteed to be why your dryer eventually stops going round and round. Have it go both ways and you now need to provide that kick everytime it changes direction, not just at the start.
I have a ceiling exhaust, is it worth looking at a Heatpump , a condenser dryer or buy a vented a highly recommended Westinghouse vented model WDV556N3WB Dryer?
Hair owns and manufactures all fisher & paykel applicances, decent quality.
That is not true. F&P still designs and manufactures some of their products, usually the more high end ones.
That's false unless you could prove it.
Fisher & Paykel appliance is owned by Haier after owned by two other overseas companies since 2004.
Maybe you are mistaken that with Fisher & Paykel Healthcare which is the only part of the company still remain in NZ.
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Haier do own F&P, but F&P still do their own design and manufacturing.
Some things rather very few things from Haier are ok I have their near new fridges as it's supplied by worl and income they are so so manual thermostat temperature control is poor but you can get a great bargain on market place , we have central acs at housing NZ community houses where i work they are ok Daikin ME Mhe are lot better but haier is may be 1/3 cheaper so they go with it .
They are cheap they are ok midea Xiaomi is cheap but they are great quality for what you pay
Thanks, Why is work and income a supplier?
MSD bulk buy from Haier and use them in all of their rentals.
I had a haier upright freezer which was a dog, after the third failing and poor customer service. i.e no responsibility from them, I dug in and eventually got a replacement. The new model is better in everyway (design differences) I would buy again based on this one. Pretty sure they knew of the issues with the first one
Is the one with the green ON light old or new ? what as the difference ?
My new one has a digital display panel on the front, the main differences were with what I could see on the back- to do with the workings. My new one is flat with vents at the bottom.
Haier owns Fisher Paykel appliances.
They're much in the same products now, maybe with some slightly different panelling etc.
