Cheapest that I've seen.
Prices at Mico, Plumbing World, and Mitre 10 are around $1,000.

$10,899 ??
Have this seat paid about $900-1000.
Aren't we suppose to install non. Return value which cost over 1000 +installation
If there are existing water connection and power points near the toilet, it's a no-brainer. I did it myself.
damn you old house, do you have a hot water line in the toilet too?
it doesn't require a hot water connection. It heats the water like washing machines do nowadays.
Yes I think officially supposed to need one, but I'm unclear on that there is mixed opinions on the internet, but I think probably yes. I think you are supposed to need a high hazard compliant backflow prevention valve.
They are very expensive maybe $500 valves and there are some bidets for sale in NZ that include the valves in the unit.
This toilet seat I think doesn't include a back flow prevention valve. This bidet seat was installed by a plumber without one.
Example bidet with compliant backflow valve

A FAQ page from an online shop that sells expensive bidet and back flow valves with information stating that you need them installed.
Yeah this is correct, having looked into it as well you need a valve to meet building code.
That said if it's good enough for Japan it's good enough for me, and all of these models are 100% reversible. I think it's more a case of our plumbing regulations just not keeping up with reality than any actual issues
I like the idea but hate the look of these things - each time I see them (in a box or in final place) they remind me of something you would expect to see in an old retirement home…not sure what it is, maybe its the plastics or colour or general design but ugh.
So in theory another 10% off with mitre10 price match?
Ah membership required for the price…so that negates like for like and would only be 10% off the 589.99 price. My bad
I doubt they would price match the $589.99 price either, membership is required to shop at Costco (not just to receive the $100 rebate)
Haha, just an update for the same curious mind.
I went to Mitre10 Westgate this morning and asked if they could price match. The store manager said someone came yesterday for the same request and they went to Costco to check and claimed the ones at Costco are not the same as theirs and the price for that model was way below their cost. BUT, I'm 100% sure both are the same as I double-checked both products. Since Mitre10 insisted they were different, there is no need for argument.
evekare Water Powered Bidet Toilet Seat from bunnings is much cheaper at $150, doesn't require power. I've got 2 - they're great. Be careful with installation though as I mucked up one of the alignment plastic things and the seat would shift to the side when sitting down without additional support jammed into the adjustable slot.
If it’s not TOTO then I don’t want it hahah
