  • Good spotting. Only checked that an hour ago.

OP - Expiry should be the 27th Jan (not the 28th) as it's only a one day deal.

    • Updated, thanks

Y'all reckon TM will do a free selling promo any time soon?

    • +1

The only sure thing is that it's always on a Saturday and not on a day that would have plenty of sellers anyway (like straight after Christmas).
They usually rotate the offers but in no particular order.

Have a look at previous Trade Me posts to get an idea

It's been a while since the last one, they used to do them a lot more frequently

        • +4

          Not just Trade Me.
If you have a look at previous deals on Cheapies, a number that used to be frequent have slowed right up.
Offers like Waitomo Spin to Win, The Market, PB Tech Free Shipping, Kogan Mobile are all either pretty much gone or dramatically reduced in offer or frequency (or both) compared to what they used to be.
There will be plenty more I haven't listed.

@bigcheese: Was thinking the same thing. The daily Cheapies email is getting shorter and shorter.

I’ve found that the demand for products is much higher on Facebook market place than Trademe. If you are prepared to put up with more tyre kickers and rude people, then marketplace can net you a higher price.

    • yes and more convenient too, i find people just watch them like i do with other sellers with no intention of buying as it can be cheaper elsewhere, it became a pricespy for the used market and just a site to advertise.

Buyers on Trade Me tend to show more interest in expensive goods than buyers on Facebook Marketplace in my experience. It's hard to sell something like a phone because 95% of users who message you on FB either lowball you or just waste your time.

Facebook Marketplace is basically the modern day Mos Eisley.

      • +2

        Is this still available?

        • +2

          Yes,

I bet that is the last I hear from you.

If I do hear from you. You will probably message me something like I just got 5 minutes ago.
'Ok the price suits me ok I take it but I would like to come tomorrow but I am busy with work at the moment, I'll send a UPS letter carrier to your home to give you your money in cash and collect the item.'

          FB Marketplace is so fun.

        • Yes, are you still interested?
          No

  • I thought a remember seeing a way people were being smart and preloading the listings days in advance, but only launching it (for the discount) on the day.
Does anyone remember how that works?

See a couple of previous comments from @Huntakillaz re doing just that.

      • Superstar. Thank you for linking too!

      • The issue with doing it that way, at least in my experience, is that when I go to activate the product the images on the listing just vanish.

You can also offer a fixed price offer after the auction ends and if anyone accepts it, the discount will still apply

Use bidbud to schedule your auction at a specific time without paying Tardeme the 25c to schedule
