  • Cheers. Was about to post as just grabbed some instore. Price seems right. Hopefully work in the devices that don't like eneloops and need the 1.5v

these are lithium, eneloops are not

      • +1

        Which is the better approach?

        • no idea,

fwiw this is the first time i saw lithium in AA and AAA size

im tempted, except i still have unopened eneloops at home

        • +1

If the device requires 1.5v this are good like some of door locks don't work on 1.2v. But they have lower capacity then eneloops. Eneloops have higher capacity but lower voltage, also they would fluctuate a bit. Lithium should be able to provide more consistent voltage in theory. I have no experience with this batteries though.

          • @ace310: I recently put some of the AA ones in my door lock, as I was looking for 1.5v rechargables and it seems to be fine so far.

I did like that they came with a USB dongle that plugs into all the batteries for charging.

Bunnings carry them. Maybe pricebeat possible?

    Pale Blue Earth AA
    Pale Blue Earth AAA

Doesn't look like many stores carry stock though.

  • When are devices going to adopt user replaceable 18650s

  • Wouldn't recommend lithium if you're not using these often. They slowly drain even with device turned off.

  • Any idea if the 9V batteries work in smoke detectors? The other USB-chargeables that were here recently do not.

    • +1

For the price of them, I'd just buy some 10yr battery smoke alarms and not have to worry about it.

      • In my experience the 10yr sealed battery smoke alarms only last 2-3 years. Even good quality brand ones. I have switched back to 9V battery ones

        • You can get a refund if they last less than 10 years

          • @elbrownos: Only if you still have the receipt or details of where you have bought them from after 3 years

  • +1

I have the AA ones. Got sick of constantly buying AA batterys for my wireless mouse. They're a good alternative. I saw complaints about them being faulty and not charging but also saw that the warranty wasn't an issue for them, so I took a shot.
Had them about 4-5 months and no complaints.

    • Eneloops works perfectly for low drain devices like mouse. They are cheaper and retain charge longer. But good to know it has worked well.

      • They're also just generic rechargeable batteries.
The entire point of these pale blue batteries is that they're usb-c and don't require an entire charging device to use them.
