      Not 50% store wide.
Yes they have a ‘sale’ pretty much every second day but it’s either on a particular category or up to 50 or 60% with many items well below that.
Some items like KitchenAid mixers and Coffee Machines don’t go down this low normally so it’s a good time to get those items if that’s what you’re after when the store wide discount comes up.

            @Mooserooter: I got 60L new bottle for $20
Is it because online it shows as more?

            • @Foodie: The online ones at Briscoes are new bottle with no swap. The refill or swap is cheaper cause you already have the bottle.

              • @Mooserooter: I think the in store price is different to the online price,
I picked up two new bottles for $20 each. Refills were $13.50 in store.

                • @psychowei: I wonder if it was a result of 30% online or 50% in store? And it was confused?

Dunno, definitely paid $20 each. Price matching bit of a more complicated avenue.

                  • @Foodie: I got the refill for $13.50 which makes sense since I believe the normal price is $27 and they don't seem to be excluding Sodastream. I was told the new cylinders were $20 which makes sense since the advertising in store says all items and only excludes gift cards and clearance. While you could debate of if the 'refills' are items, the new cylinders clearly seem to be.

It's supposed to be 50% except for online exclusive which are 30% so it's sorta weird the cylinders were $28 online. It might be because of the limitations e.g. you cannot do click and collect with cylinders although you can ship them, perhaps something to do with handling requirements etc so cylinders might be recorded in their system as online exclusive although you can just go in store and buy them.

Luckily for me, last time they did this during Auckland Anniversary Weekend they didn't have this so cylinders showed as $20 online too. So it was easy to price beat them at Mitre10. Well the first store I tried rejected because it wasn't available for click and collect or something, I didn't bother to argue since was already planning to go to a different Mitre10 store to check the dates on their syrups and the next one was completely fine.

Of course then about 2 weeks later JB Hifi sold the syrups for $4.50, but anyway…..

We now own 5 cylinders. Great deal!

  • Received in my email this morning:
Get an extra $10 off your order of $50 or more. Use code: BRIS10 online or show/mention this email in store.

    Valid 27th-28th (this weekend)

Previously I have been asked for an email/phone number in-store, so may be worth making an account before going in-store if you were to use this on top of the 50% off sale.

    • Interesting the coupon either ended early or was broken on my account. Also it might have excluded Sodastream although it doesn't say anything like this in the email just that it excludes gift vouchers.

I tried it at around 2330, the prices were still showing 50% off etc all fine. But when I tried to use the BRIS10 after adding $50+ of Sodastream (well 7 syrups and a 2 pack 500ml bottle) to my cart it said it did not meet the minimum amount. I guess besides excluding Sodastream it's possible their system counts 7 of on flavour as a 'trade' order and excludes it, I didn't try a variety of syrups or something.

Anyway I then tried adding another random item I think it was a ~$64.50 heater and it now said the coupon is not valid. Tried removing the Sodastream stuff and still same, not valid. Tried adding back the Sodastream and removing the other item and it now said doesn't meet the minimum again so it's not like it expired while I was testing. I tried another item same thing as earlier now says not valid.

My account only half existed until just before I tried but the email seems to suggest you can just create an account anyway so assume that isn't reason. (My account half existed since I gave an email in store but didn't have an account with that email so it created a new one. When I did that I got WELCOM10 which has long expired. And they started sending me emails e.g. I got the email about BRIS10. But I just added my details today.)

After midnight prices went up and now says not valid even for Sodastream. Note, I never used the code before either in store or online. I was mostly fooling as had already decided not to make my order so didn't care.

BTW if you ordered $50-66.66 worth of Sodastream stuff or whatever else and they allowed the coupon it would have be better than Mitre10 15% price beat provided it was an instore order so no click and collect fee etc. The click and collect fee is enough to make Mitre10 better.
