https://www.godfreys.co.nz/bissell-spot-clean-turbo-antibac
also numetic henry on sale too
https://www.godfreys.co.nz/henry-1Anyone know if henry is great for pet hair? Looking for something that is great for pet hair.
How's the warranty?
This doesn't really cover what happens after the administration?
Assume none, unless can deal with manufacturer presence in nz
Roborock S8 for $699.50 is a great price.
Seriously, this. I grabbed the wife, showed her, and we've ordered it to replace our VERY-well used S5. Thanks OP!
Can S8 use your current base?
We only have the charging dock, no emptying. Hasn't bothered me to empty it myself. S8 comes with its own charging dock - not sure if different but shouldn't be an issue.
Would you say it's better value compared to the Ecovacs DEEBOT N10 @ $599?
Yes.
I mean, I've got some bias but I did watch a TON of review videos, and did again this time recently and a couple more this morning. General consensus - these days there's very rarely a 'bad' robot - they all vacuum, they all have an app, etc etc.
However, the anecdotal comments on the various subreddits I looked at (I have a 9 month old, I'm up late at night), the return rate on Ecovacs is surprisingly high. They're also weirdly one of the most popular brands within China - so maybe people are just unlucky, but go figure. On average, the Roomba and the Roborocks tend to come up trumps.
Ah should have just googled first, I found the link I was reading on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/comments/12rlg03/how_does_…
It's the roborock subreddit, so some bias as the top comment points out, but it was enough to turn me off them. Maybe their top range ones are better?
for anyone else who gets one. Mine arrived today. Excitedly put it on the dock, and….NOTHING. A blink, but it wouldn't turn on.
A couple of hours of reading online forums, I found I'm not alone. Certain batches when the battery drains to zero, it has trouble coming back without some magic sequences that reddit managed to work out.
Said forum post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/comments/168b434/comment/k…
For me, it was weirdly the post in French that I translated that worked for me. Now it's great :)
Follow-up: this morning, I'm floored at how much better it is than the S5. Smartly detects pets, cables, kids toys. Twice the sucking power, but only 4db louder. Excellent purchase.
Thank you for sharing! I am so interested but still a bit wary of that battery. Just wondering, was it able to hold charge for the entire clean? And does it recharge normally after the initial factory resetting?
@Chinglishlaaa: Yep! And that's what most in the reddit forum found too. Once you get it past that weird bug, everything functions normally.
(I've been running it on and off much of the day and monitoring the battery; it's losing charge normally in use, and charging fine out of use. Has done over 2 hours of cleaning so far today (in spurts, as I've been wanting to monitor it).
@beatthatflight: You're a legend, I'm on my way to Botany with my partner!
@Chinglishlaaa: Follow up: for anyone who may be interested, the S8 I bought did not require resetting of any kind (in French or otherwise). Luck of the draw! Happy with the purchase
@Chinglishlaaa: awesome! Glad yours went ok!
I price matched a cheap Hoover for vacuuming the car at Mitre10 the other day with the much cheaper Godfreys. Worth checking.
Thanks. Got some Miele hepa filters

Anyone recommend a steam mop?
We got the dual steam mop. Really good. :)
Bissell spot cleaners are great value here. we've ordered. nice find
Which one did you get?
They only have this one left but all the spot cleaners are amazing. They just change the look, really. This one is a bit more compact than the other ones but for small spills, you can't go wrong with them. Plus that price is absolutely ridiculous. If I didn't have one I'd be buying this already.
Just ordered one of these, hopefully will work well on the furniture. Where does one get the cleaning refills for these?
@cutcutcut: The general Bissell Formula should work on them fine. You can get them anywhere. They usually come with at least a sample.
If the manual says you can use the Oxy Boost on top of it, I'd recommend it as well, but not essential. Otherwise, have a Stain Pretreat if you don't have the Oxy boost. Sold in several places.
Please ensure you always use hot water (not boiling), husband learned cold water doesn't work when trying on his own.
@toomanywises: It’s also sold at Godfrey’s for half price, not sure what the stock levels are like at the moment though but they had them in stock yesterday
@Is2u: Most aren't available for delivery. For me the nearest was Botany Downs, which is a hike and not worth it. :(
Some stores are going independent (e.g., Lower Hutt)
https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=164&topicid=31…Westgate Auckland is also going Independent
Too bad can't find any good carpet shampooers in the Christchurch stores
Ordered something this morning for click and collect at Sylvia and received an email saying it had been collected. Called to see what was happening and their system is being weird atm.
Good chance to grab Miele's
