Recommendations for computer monitors?

Hi,

Does anybody have any recommendations on the best value computer monitors available currently?

I'm looking for 2x 27-30" IPS monitors, they seem to be available for about $200 each but I don't really know what I'm looking at.

Any advice is much appreciated.

    I don't know much about monitors but I think you might need to give a few more details for recommendations on best value.

    Such as:
    Resolution,
    Frame rate / Refresh rate,
    Type of port(s) you want. HDMI, DVI, Displayport
    G-sync/Free Sync
    headphone port
    Tilt, pivot, Swivle
    price range you are okay spending for each
    What you might want to use them for etc

      Hey Fox, thanks for the reply and yeah, fair call on more detailed specs…
      I have done some more reading up on the that and have concluded a high resolution would be ideal (it'll mostly be used for image and video rendering).
      Frame rate probably doesn't matter tooo much. Standard ports will be fine (HDMI i guess, just to go to a docking station).

        If you are doing image and video rendering you might want to look into 4K monitors.

        It might take a bit of research or visiting stores to figure out what you want.
        There might be a cheapie that knows about Monitors too.

    For $200 it’s pretty easy to purchase a second hand 28” Samsung IPS on TradeMe

    one tip is defo do not get 1080p at that size.

      Thanks for the tip, I had assumed most modern screens would have decent resolution and that 1080p would probably be fine. I guess not!?

        the bigger the screen the higher the resolution is recommended, 1080 pixels high on a screen can start to be noticeable on larger screens, that being said many people dont notice it.

    Hey guys, does Dell NZ no longer have the same deal that AU have? in the past the price seems to be much better - just the currency rate difference
