I’m with OneNz, want to know what the process was and if there was any downtime? How is their service, speed etc.? Do I need to inform One? Also the deal they are offering where they give credit if you add broadband, is there a contract for broadband or free to leave anytime after getting the credit?
Anyone Moved to Contact Broadband?

Thanks any difference in speed compared to your previous provider, any downtime etc.?
No downtime at all, one moment I was with my old provider then I was with Contact. I hadn't even plugged in the new modem they sent me when the changeover occurred - noticed on the day that my IP address had changed. I then plugged in the new modem the sent me, connected my wifi devices to the new modem and all was good.
No difference in speed for the better or worse.
Just a note - they didn't notify One in my case, so I got charged an extra month. Probably could have hassled Contact to cover it as they do state they'd notify one, but I cbf.
I'm with them for power and broadband. Switched from 2degrees Fibre max (950 Mbps) down to Contact's 300 Mbps and haven't really had any issues.
The only gripe I have at the moment is that they are not acknowledging I signed up using their promo code (stupid excuse really - I clearly put it into the field and it was accepted at the time) and didn't receive the $400 dollar credit with their CONTACT400 promo they have going on at the moment. Waited a whole month and the credit didn't show up so I started querying. Thankfully they said that they'd provide it as a one-time favour out of their good will (lol)Someone had a similar incident here: https://www.cheapies.nz/node/46176
Love it! They are doing you a favour for something you should have received! Probably just trying to see who they can get away with not giving it to
What date to choose for connection when filling up form? I'm with One NZ and they want me to fill this form https://one.nz/help/my-one-nz/cancel-an-account/disconnect-b… and say they need a minimum of 7 days for disconnection. What did others put? Did you have to fill a disconnection form for your current provider?
Just signed up chose today's date, haven't filled up One NZ disconnection form yet as the agent on the phone said I can fill it up after getting connected with Contact and they will credit if any charges & I will be charged only up to the date Contact activated broadband. No email from contact though & no credit either but under services it shows-

ConnectedAnyone had issues with cgnat with plex, cameras, other local wifi connecting devices like power plugs etc when accessing away from home?
I am pretty certain plex won't work, as that requires port forwarding.
Does anyone know how strict the condition is? It says you need to have power with them, but one of my properties has Contact Energy gas and I'm wondering if I can still get the $400 credit.
T&C's do state Contact electricity only - https://contact.co.nz/aboutus/media-centre/2024/03/12/contac…
Though you can just go into the app / website and try apply the CONTACT400 promo code when you add Broadband to your Gas plan and see if it lets ya.
For the ones who moved, how many days after signing up you got connected to Contact?
I think they recommended a week or two's notice. Gave them 2 weeks before I transferred, didn't tell my previous ISP - Contact sorted everything on their end. Took a minute of downtime on the day of the transfer to get it switched across to the new provider.
I signed up recently and my connection date is 14/06, however, Contact Energy requested my current supplier for the transition on 06/06. The broadband has been down since this morning, the current supplier can't do anything as they've already closed the account as per Contact's request. I have been trying since this morning but can't get in touch with the right person at Contact, have talked to 3 people, and all of them have put me on hold or forwarded me to someone who never picks up. What a circus!!!!
Try there whatsapp contact if you have whatsapp. Though not immediate response, but you should have a line of communication. Add as much details as you can and say urgent couple of times :)
Thanks :), got it sorted in the end.
Yes I moved to them. You sign up through Contact website and they do everything, they'll notify One.
Got the credit on my power account as soon as I signed up, not when my broadband was activated.
No term contract.
