Sunbeam Barista Plus Espresso Machine Silver EMM5400SS $499.99 (Was $1099.99) @ Briscoes

Briscoes is always having sales, but this one definitely raised an eyebrow!

I did a quick google, Folders has it for $1099 and Sunbeam Australia is selling it for AU$749 so it seems pretty epic.

  • I wonder how it is compared to the mighty Breville barista express

    • I'm afraid to say… Poorly. I know a couple of people that have bought these machines only to return them for the breville version.

      • Thanks, will wait for heavy discount on breville then (more than kings bday one)

        • You should be able to pick one up for under $600 at some point.

          • +1

@samsteez: Waiting for harvey Norman’s $646 price to come back, then i can price beat at briscoes

    • There's definitely cheaper and better machines out there than the Breville if you have the time to look around. We just got one and honestly I'm disappointment in the coffee it makes. We had a Delongi which was about $300 but didn't have a bean grinder. That thing made a great coffee and with half the faff of the breville. The downside is that the milk frother had issues which needed to be warrantied after a year, but they've updated the machine so I'm sure the newer ones have resolve it, plus it's covered under warranty same as anything else.

      • Can u share some examples please which machines are cheaper and better than breville barista express?

        • Delongi Dedica machines make great coffee with less faff and are much cheaper (they don't come with expensive grinders built in), you just need to get the right coffee/grind (plunger grind works better than espresso I found when buying). But I haven't tried every machine so I can't really give you a list, just spend some time searching through coffee forums or watching youtube review comparisons.
