The Xiaomi GaN charger has caught my eye https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPPMIX55045/Xiaomi-67W-Fast…

    $39

    • I got this in the last sale for charging my son's laptop. Hasn't missed a beat so far, gets warm but hasn't gotten hot while charging.

Anyone used this before? How effective is it? Thinking of putting in my WF-1000XM5 and toothbrush heads and Waterpik heads in it to sterilize them.

    UPDATE:

Just realized that it's ~$18 after applying the code, that's really cheap. Buy first, think later. Gonna order like 5 of these.

    • Unless you're a germophobe, then it's probably one of those "use once and off it goes in the cupboard" things.

I am a germaphobe yeah, but not a severe one lol.

I mean, it's got its use cases. I have a lot of interdental picks, toothbrush heads, Waterpik heads, and I can just chuck all of them in at once and dry them and sterilize them every now and then. It's just good hygiene. Keep one in the car as well in case I need to use it during a trip.

    • That was a funny read! Thanks Wakrak! I'm kinda intrigued, are you guys buying??

    • The first comment is quite valid. Day to day plastics are not UV protected and a regular toothbrush head/ eye glass plastics may turn brittle with this machine.

      • Well do you want to protect your plastics or sterilize your stuff?

      • Just don't let it soak in the UV for too long then? Using it for a minute should be fine. If you're worried about plastics, then you're missing the point of UV sterilization.

  • Thanks OP ordered.

  • Should hopefully work better than the AliExpress / TradeMe "ultrasonic" water jigglers: https://youtu.be/NKTr40lz_qg?si=lAxapiGAs1xYqWgp

    • Different purposes. An ultrasonic cleaner removes dirt, whereas these sanitisers shine UV light on objects to kill germs

  • Oos

  • it went down to $16.42 but out of stock now.

No it didn't. PB tech showed you the price without GST

  • I picked mine up today and didn't realise how enormous it was. I was gonna use it on my bedside table. I wonder if another Cheapie wanted to purchase it off me?

    • I would if you still have it?
