  • What are the popular flight blends to try?

  • Apart from supermarket discounts, what's the cheapest coffee beans per kg you can get here?

Costco has some Lavazza for less than 30 bucks

The Warehouse has "Market" brand beans for $20 per kg

      • Should've specified fresh(er) coffee from roasters. When I was in Melbourne you could get 1 kg of beans for about 24aus, which isn't that much more than supermarket beans. Was wondering if I could get similar deals here, or is everyone just charging 50-60 a kg in Auckland.

You can get Raglan Roast for $40 per kg (I like their Brown Lightning) if you're after something freshly roasted - their subscription service is pretty good value to have a constand supply and beans arrive pretty quickly after roasting since they roast daily

The recommendation for the Market Kitchen ones is that they tend to punch above their weight based on price, nothing officially confirmed but everyone seems to agree that its Havana in Wellington who roast them for The Warehouse

Most supermarkets I go to don't have Flight, but the high end one near me sells it for $12.50 for 250g.

Flight sells for $14, and 20% off takes it to $11.20.

I've always wondered why people buy beans directly from the company - Flight are definitely not the only ones who price higher direct. In fact I'd be surprised if any of them don't.

    • It’s not just price, look at when it’s roasted. My flight coffee is usually roasted in the few days before receiving, that’s why I keep going back to it with the free shipping. I also rate Matakana and Raglan roast but the freight kills it.

    • Because typically the bags in the supermarket have been roasted literally weeks earlier. They’re not as fresh as direct from roaster.
