Considering Dyson's customer service, I was happy to buy refurbished directly from them at $799

Then noticed that UNiDAYS has a 15% off RRP offer which (to my surprise) worked with the $799 - bringing the price down to $679.15.

Coupon code is applied at Dyson's website at checkout, rather than through a UNiDAYS portal - you just need to login to UNiDAYS to access a unique coupon code. Perhaps some generous uni students may be able to offer any unused codes.

Perfect timing after my V6's battery died after 8 years!

    All UNiDAYS codes don't work with refurbished products. They do work with regular products though.

      I noticed the unidays codes only worked on one item at a time. If i added two items in, it didnt recognise the code at checkout.

    Have been kicking around with an older V8 for quite some time and the head brush is very worn now.

    Have seen these on sale around $400, the V10 at $575-600 on sale and have not even bothered looking at the higher models!

    Reminder to check in close to the 1 year warranty period to try for a new battery if any degradation has been noticed.
    Had to do this twice with Dyson on the V8 but that's a much older unit so hopefully things have improved by now.

    1 year warranty period is the main downside to this refurbed approach but the price is totally right. Thanks all.

      I got my V8 battery replaced that was 2.5 years old for free, went to the retailer and stated my rights under CGA, they sent it off to Dyson. Dyson was kind enough to also replace the filters for free.

    Was a bit concerned regarding the quality of the refurb after reading all the comments on a previous Ozbargain deal - but mine showed up looking essentially brand new!

      Mine arrived after 5 days (thanks NZ Post!). Visually identical to a new unit, with the exception of the Noel Leeming sticker on the box itself and the return authorisation sheet from Noel Leeming New Plymouth included in the actual box itself.

      All seals and original packaging still there, unopened.

      I wonder if Dyson relies on the retailer telling them it’s not been used (rather than actually inspecting each return). Concerning if true.

    I received mine yesterday, and it was in terrible condition. The pink seal in the dust canister was heavily worn, the dust bin contained dust and a bit of animal/human hair, and the cleaning head was clogged with even more hair. I felt like I wanted to puke… It definitely is a preowned/heavily used product that had been terribly maintained by a very careless owner. Furthermore, I don't think the unit was thoroughly cleaned nor sanitized as per their description. I contacted Dyson and after a video chat, they confirmed that this shouldn’t happen with a refurbished product. Unfortunately they couldn’t replace it, so I had to return it and place a new order. I might give another go and see if I get a decent one, if not I will just return it.

      Pretty crazy how different yours was…! Someone at Dyson has dropped the ball with QA for refurbed stuff.

    Mine arrived. Bad shape, heavily used head with dust all through. Bin full of hair and poor seals.

    Dyson customer service was great. Someone called, did a video inspection and is arranging brand new replacement parts

      Got mine. Battery life on auto mode reads 25mins on a full charge, where as my brothers heavily used one is 47m. Also the brush fails to spin when changing power output modes. Looks like I'll have to hit up customer service too..

      mine arrived looking 99% clean, a little amount of dust in dust bin only. battery life seemed decent, boost mode 18mins so no complaints there.
      but I think they should come with some screws for the wall mount? mine are missing… probably gonna call them up and ask about dimensions or just grab some from hardware store, overall very happy at this price, going to do a lot of cleaning tomorrow. gonna use V6 to go over carpet once then use this to go over again lol
