Just saw this on OzBargain so thought Cheapies might give it a whirl.

Usually $2,000 a person - Uber are celebrating 10 years in NZ offering Uber Snowcat Experiences over the next three weekend's in Queenstown.

What’s included?
The experience includes:

  • Luxury transfer from Queenstown CBD to Soho Basin
  • Morning refreshment
  • Safety briefing
  • Snowcat with dedicated guides
  • Lunch by local winery Amisfield
  • Apres experience at the top hut

          Well, we'll see haha. I put an order for the 6th and then a subsequent order for the 31st as I didn't put two options in (silly me).. They've cancelled the second order but the first order is still active.

          I joined the wait list for August 31st, apparently the order is currently “heading my way, estimated arrival 12:45pm-1:10pm”

          Very confused. Will be interesting with what happens next, as I’m not at the Queenstown address

    Keep in mind this is intended for intermediate to advanced skiers/snowboarders. If you got a booking and have no winter sports experience you may want to reconsider.

        I got a confirmation, trying to work out whether to go considering I haven't skied for more than decade, even then I was shit at it. Going to look at the scenery would be cool tho.

                @Latex Fist: Did anyone do this last weekend?? The 31st event has been moved to the 3rd so my partners friend can’t go anymore.

                I initially want going because I didn’t think I’d be good enough, but we can’t find anyone else to join so reconsidering

                I ski intermediate runs on this ski fields (not super confidently) but have never been off piste - any advice ??

                  @Brit22: Dang, any idea why it was moved? I know someone who wasn't confident in their ability too who ended up emailing Uber to give it to our friend, and they were all good with it. If you aren't able to go and can't find anyone, let me know.

                  In terms of ability, I'd suggest you'd probably need to be at least confident with intermediate runs (not trying to put you off by any means, just I don't know if they make us go in groups or not).
