If I do all these I'll get addicted to running around collecting microrewards, I have some suggestions for more:

+$2.48 if you stand on your head

+$0.10 per entry into a Westpac ATM vestibule while singing the Westpac theme song (max 3 entries, participating vestibules only)

+$1.72 if you post #westpacisbratgirlsummer to Instagram and TikTok

  • I have opened and apply the Debit Mastercard. Annual fee is waived for the first year for both card.

  • This is not a good way for them to award existing customers. I don't have a Westpac debit card but they set me up with an Everyday account when I setup some TDs with them, as you need an everyday account to transfer money out of Westpac. So it looks like I don't qualify as a result. It seems odd they have that requirement because I thought the purpose of the promotion was to get people to signup to a debit card.

    • I am in the same boat as you. Very disappointing indeed.
Thinking to open another Everryday account just for this purpose

      • I don't think you can have any everyday account previously setup and active. So setting up a second one may not make any difference. But would be interested to know if it does work.

  • Does anybody know if there a minimum spend for each of the 5 transactions?

    • I would doubt it, unless the terms say otherwise. But could pay to ask them.

I reached out and asked, got this in return for anyone interested:

        "Hi Scott,
        Thank you for your response.
        Great question!
There is no minimum amount. All 5 transactions will only need to be contactless transactions."

  • Its getting close to the bank rewards payout where is it worth it. Anz dont charge for a visa card so thats alrewdy one reason to not consider this offer… are you all doing this for the bonus or stayijg with westpac?

  • Any downside to having multiple bank accounts with multiple banks

    • Not really, and you can close accounts after the promo is done. so you don't get spammed by them

    • It's not credit, so shouldn't affect your credit rating.

  • Deal might be overs with.

I was booked an appointment last week for this Thursday opening a new account. I guess no reason for me to do that now :(
