Just had an email last night that it’s FREE delivery over $100 spend at North Island New World Stores. (Have counted 38 stores in ts &cs in this promotional period).

Pretty good imo! Includes Rural I believe because I am! And no pressure on ordering right now. Active until February 28 2025! 👏🏻.

I don’t even shop at New World (nothing local), however the closest town with New World delivers to my area now so I think I’ll be taking this offer up a few times!

      Oh really? I’m rural and it says free when I put my address in…. I also just tried another rural address and also free… So not sure what’s happening your end sorry :/

        It can be 'interesting' what the courier companies (at least) regard as rural and not, so I can only guess that NW (and others) views will also be varied.

        We have lived in a sub-division with probably well over a thousand houses, and no 'gaps' (green fields) between us and the local town centre, but were classified as rural by some of the couriers / retailer for a while. My guess is that it was due to the houses all being new, and the databases hadn't caught up, but not sure.

          Yup, urban sprawl ends up being faster than reclassification.
          Lots of rural contracts to change, has other impacts as well.

      That’s strange ?!?! You should be able to choose which store you would like to place your order with for sure 😆.

      I'd guess you can't choose where to get it from if you are asking for delivery as they want to be as efficient as possible.

      It would not be commercially sensible to deliver from, say, a Wellington store to an Auckland address, and the same logic would apply even if the separation was much smaller.

      If you want to pick it up yourself, and carry the cost of getting it from the store to your place, then I'd think you could place your order on any store you like - your choice.

        I could only guess, but some stores (especially Metro stores) might not have any delivery vehicles, so your order goes to the closest one to you that offers it?

    My closest New World Porirua isn't on the list either, but turns out they deliver for free anything over $50.
