UPGRADEZUPGRADES24LOYAL50

Samsung is offering a 30% discount for Labour Day Weekend, plus a $650 trade-in boost on "online exclusive" colours (i.e. black) of the Galaxy Fold 6. Plus $250 Upgrade bonus with "UPGRADEZ" If it's your first time purchasing via the Government EPP store, you can stack this with the 10% welcome discount. (edit - add in LOYAL50)

This offer might also be available on other EPP stores (e.g. AIA Vitality).

For the smaller, non-exclusive Galaxy Fold 6 (256GB), you can get a $600 trade-in boost, bringing the price down to about $1320.

After breaking two Folds and swearing I wouldn’t get another… here we go again, haha!

        • If you dont use govt email you can stack deals. They have auto 15% off, and a $400 trade in bonus no matter what you trade in. Then use code UPGRADES24 for additional 250 trade bonus, LOYAL50 for 50 off, signup to Samsung members app and theres a 10% voucher (not sure how that works, was already a member and it was in voucher menu)

Also there's a 1st time Samsung store 10% off i think, wasn't my 1st purchase so not sure about that one

          • @quote: Thanks. I tried this yesterday just to get some prices. Now i have access to the govt store.
The trade in section now says my imei has been used. How do i bypass this?

            • @debo: You've gotta make sure you've deleted your trade in if you've logged on to a different account also clearing the cache on your browser or using a different browser. The site can be quite glitchy at times.

        • S24 Ultra 12GB/256GB $2,449 $806.14

I'm trying to trade in a s23 ultra 256gb but the website gets stuck. Anyone experiencing the same?

    • Same experience

    • Use data dont use wifi i had the same problems with credit card.

    • Fixed in samsung website now

    • Try a laptop.

  • Can anyone work out how to use the Govt EPP through the Samsung app, so that you can stack voucher codes? It looks like through the website you can't stack voucher codes. I have an Iphone 7+, so it gets a $20 trade in + boost. I was looking at a Galaxy S24 Ultra 256gb.

Cheapest on Govt EPP through browser (can only use one voucher so used UPGRADES24):
    $1,047.87 Base price
    -$520.00 Trade In
    -$250.00 Other discounts (UPGRADES24)
    -$881.13 Other discounts
    $797.87 Total

    Cheapest on App
    $1,700.83 Base price
    -$520.00 Trade In
    -$300.00 Other discounts (UPGRADES24 and LOYAL 50)
    -$545.52 Other discounts
    $1,083.48

    • The govt epp, you cant stack vouchers anymore, the only way you can get that down even more is create a new samsung account to get the 10% first purchase off.

  • Thanks for posting this deal.

    • Hi,
Does the Galaxy fold 6 has the 15% RRP?
      What’s the 10% off voucher?
And did you use Govt EPP or student account?
      Thanks

      • I just use the standard Samsung store. The 10% voucher is the Samsung member's voucher. Yes the fold has 15% off but the only good thing for me about the fold is the $600 I made when I sold it. They're pretty hard to sell secondhand. I think you'd really have to have a use for the fold once the novelty ran out to justify the price and their durability.

        • How did you get the first time discount to apply? Is it a code or something? Not showing up for me…

          • @Bluestripe44: You have to use the Samsung shop app to get the discount. Which will load on any phone my last purchase was on my Apple phone with the app and a new Samsung account. You can only get the members app on a Samsung phone. If you've done all that sometimes it won't show up until you put everything in the cart it's a terrible app. You can try deleting the Cache in the app and restarting the phone.

        • That’s true. The durability of the fold still looks not up to par.
I was thinking about buying it for a gift overseas. But still on the fence as it won’t have any warranty left.
It’s still too extravagant for me as a cheapie, I’m happy with my iPhone 13 for the foreseeable future.

    Any thoughts on S24 ($393.87) versus S24+ ($595.87) versus S24 Ultra ($797.87)?
I'm not a massive power user. Upgrading from Iphone 7 Plus.
Was leaning towards the regular S24 for $393.87. If I find that I want something better, could just trade up when they run another one of these promos sometime in the future? Others have posted about trading up from S24 to S24+ for example for $40.59….

    • The S 24+ would be similar to the iPhone 7 Plus in size but that's with the similarities end, the S 24+ has a better screen than the S 24 which makes a difference if you were going to use Dex(use your phone like a desktop computer) on your monitor or television you get 4K instead of 1080p with the S24.

    • I went through this debate last time a similar deal was available, for me it was all about form factor and the S24+ and S24 ultra were just too big to comfortably hold and fit in your pocket. I find the S24 the perfect size, not tempted to go up to the S24+ even for $40

      • Yes I'm the same I had the note many times and I also got the s24ultra last time $500 so I sold it because the phone is way too big and heavy as you say. The 24+ it's quite a bit smaller and lighter so I'll use that for a change because in a few months I'll trade on the s25.

  • There are lots of people reselling the phones on Trademe. It makes me think I should get in on this too, but it feels a little too complicated for me.

  • $708 for a fold 6 256gb after tradein s23 ultra 256gb. I could sell in trademe but then ill have to deal with other people…

    • There wouldn't be a lot in it I got around $1100 S 24 could've done slightly better with A04 trade, but the S 24s are coming to the end of this cycle so I'd probably looking $700 on trade me cleared which could take a month and secondhand phones can be very annoying with people pulling out at the last minute.

  • Hi, does anyone know when you're able to get the Welcome discount? I have a preexisting Samsung account, but have never bought anything on the store. Can I still get the welcome discount or would I need to make a new account with my govt/student email?

    • +1

New samsung device = new members app code
New acc shop app = welcome discount

  • 4 phones purchased. I need help.

    Now.

    • Did you use 4 different Student accounts for that?
1 too many phone for my taste tbh.

      • No, same account.

        • Just curious.
So you got trade in discount for 1 or can you get it with every phone on a single purchase?
For the rest did you get the other discounts?

          • @Barserk: Traded in 4 phones one at a time with the same promo code.

            • @Discount Code: In that case you wouldn’t get the 10% voucher for the new account on all four. Would you?
It’s awesome that you got trade-in boost on all 4 of them.
Did you use a student account or govt EPP?
              Thanks

    • Are you reselling for profit? Lol

  • The web site is crashing when you go into the cart

    • Try in a different browser maybe - i was having issues with the site using chrome so I tried a different one and it worked.

    • Samsungs website is so bad. Trading in was broken before but that got fixed this lunch time.

  • So if I buy a cracked screen iPhone 7 off Facebook for $60, I could trade that in (even if I only get $0) as long as I tick it damaged etc? As I still get $450 bonus trade in.

    • That's what I'm hoping.. I just purchased a cracked, icloud locked iPhone 7 for $10. Just about to complete the purchase…

      • We're all in this together, folks…

      • I'm gonna try transfer money to my wise credit card and use that for the purchase incase they try some shady business with recharging the trade in bonus later lol

        • If you dont have a wise account. Does something like a pressie card work?

      • +1

Ok to play it safe, I got a perfect condition iPhone 8 256gb for $80. Tradein was $95. So came out $15 ahead. Instead of loosing $10 on a broken icloud locked phone.

    • 650 if its towards s24

      • Isn't the S24 a $400 trade in boost, 24+ is $450 according to mine? I think the $650 is for the fold

        • Nah 400 auto then code for 250, used it myself (normal site not gov)

  • Hi guys, am I late to the party here?

I have a Samsung 24 Ultra 512GB and would like to get the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 512GB.

How much can I get it for with tradein and what do I need to do exactly? I don't have a govt email or student email. Thanks

    • The codes etc should still work at least until midday. Unfortunately all variants of the Z Fold6 are show up as either out of stock or coming soon to me, so you might be too late unless they come back into stock before deal ends.

Edit: Actually the 256GB pink is available but it's less storage than you wanted or your current phone.
Edit2: For the 256GB pink, trading in a S24 Ultra 512GB in good condition (i.e. all yes on their tradein checklist) price comes to $996.65 if you just use the website with LOYAL50 and UPGRADEZ. Price is $742.48 if you use the app for the first time for the 10% off. Assume price would be the same if you use website with a Samsung member 10%. Would be even less if you use both the Samsung members 10% and 10% first time on the app. From the sound of it, if you didn't already sign up for Samsung members app, it might be too late to get a 10% code before the sale is possibly going to end.
Edit3: For clarity the value of the tradein is $1,545.00. $945 for your phone and $600 bonus. Going by the OP & T&C, you should get $650 bonus or total $1595.00 if you were buying an online exclusive except you can't at the moment.

      • The 650 bonus only comes with exclusive online colours. 600 for the normal colours.

        • Even the pink 256GB is now out of stock so guess doesn't matter if you were willing to forgo the extra $50. I suspect even if they actually meant midnight by 12:00pm rather than midday, they won't be back in stock before then. Assuming the deal really ends then of course.

    • I got a fold 6 512gb navy trading in my s23 ultra 256gb for 878 so you would have a lesser price, maybe around ~653

  • This has probably been discussed before and is sort of separate from the main deal but since people experienced with the Samsung store are hanging out here…..

Have they changed how stacking and minimums work? I remember that in the past it was fairly flawed so people were buying chargers and other accessories for $10-50 so much that we destroyed their store stock. I got a $50 voucher via live chat from doing a survey with a minimum of $100. It seems it does work on accessories. Also stacks with the LOYAL50. But you can't do the super deals any more since you need the minimum current spend for the voucher to apply. If I'm only spending $148 before vouchers, I can add either LOYAL50 or the voucher from live chat. Can't add both. (Either it says it's invalid or replaces when adding. And if removing items one of the vouchers disappears when you drop below.) If I spend $159 before any vouchers, I can add both.

    • @Huntakillaz posted that you can only stack 3 vouchers/promo codes on a standard account and only use one on a EPP account (ie govt, AIA, student) (this doesn't include the 10% off first purchase that isnt technically a voucher). It use to be unlimited.

Does anyone know if you can pay with a pressie card btw?

    • Yes, they updated the website/app a few weeks ago, and along with that came limitations to the coupon stacking and probably minimum spendings too

      https://www.cheapies.nz/comment/241538/redir

  • I pulled the trigger and got a S24Ultra.
What could happen if they’re not happy with the trade in condition?(obviously I said yes to everything is all good) But it’s not picture perfect tbh.
I used Wise to save my as but anything else I should be worried about?

    • I just brought an S24 $476.32 using an old $11 A 04 of trade me, the phone has a broken screen and won't go, I crossed all the boxes

15% off on RRP has been applied to selected products; $250 off additional trade-in boost has been applied to your product; 10% off voucher has been applied to the cart; $50 off cart applied
      10% in App

      Savings:$1,172.68

      Total $476.32

      • That’s great for the price!
I’m not sure if my 10% off voucher applied for the new account /member and the buying on app or not (Used standard Samsung Shop app with new account)
Got 840$ trade in( including 500$ bonus)
        15%off RRP,
        250$ additional trade in bonus
        Used Loyal50 & Upgrades24.

        Original price was 2449$
        Discount all in- 1685.52$
        Paid -763.48.
        Somehow the math isn’t right.
Not sure what I did wrong.

        • What did you trade? I got $650 for throwaway phone + 10% members +10% Samsung shop app new account and could only use one $50 discount and of course the 15% off . Last time I traded my S23 on a S 24 ultra and it was $535 difference plus a free wireless power bank.

          • @pdevonporf: I traded a Galaxy Fold 3.(340$ +500$bonus)
Don’t think they gave me the members 10% or the Samsung Shop 10%.
Should I bring it up on Samsung live Chat support and try to get it?

            https://imgur.com/a/NIzOlAM

            • @Barserk: Yes don't seem to give you a comprehensive breakdown . You got $340 for your Trade (I got zero) so that seems right to me. Just remember there's $900 difference between S24 and the S 24 ultra

              • @pdevonporf: That’s true! Because it doesn’t break it down my math isn’t adding up. Hence the confusion.
What do you reckon should I try to talk to their live chat to try to get those 10%s (At least to check if it was applied correctly or not)
Or will it just open a can of worms that I should avoid?

                • @Barserk: I wouldn't be bothered, every time I get a receipt I can't work it out either. The problem is 10% of what, the discount 15% and then is it the discount at 10% of the 10% you just discounted. When you do it on the Desktop you can see a lot more detail the app is pretty useless and the only reason I use it is to get that 10% new user discount. From my calculations it looks to be pretty well right because I traded a S23 few months back and the difference was $530 including a wireless power pack. I think including bonuses it was around $1100 trade in value and they had 30% of the S 24 ultra

                  • @pdevonporf: Thank you.
I’ll just stay put and enjoy the discount.

        • You're missing the Members Exclusive 10% Voucher.

Calculations with and without are below.

          $576.14 = (2,449×0.85×0.9−250−50)×0.9−500−340

          $763.48 = (2,449×0.85−250−50)×0.9−500−340

      • how did you go using the $0 value phone just for the trade-in boost? I would have guessed that it's straight forward and not nightmare-ish like what people experienced?

        • I've traded 3 A04 and they were in New or near new condition for five dollars and the other day I got a A04 that's only good for parts crossed all the boxes except "If applicable, has the activation lock on the device been disabled and free from tampered software?" I gave that a tick and it was accepted with a zero value but was accepted for trade boost which totalled $650. I redid it again on the shop app and took a screenshot so it wasn't a fluke.

          • @pdevonporf: Given people experience getting full charged for the trade-in boost, I was a bit wary but I guess you haven't gone through that yet for the $0 value A04?

            • @spam: Tried again just now with a nonworking A04 and crossed all the boxes came up negative value but when you continue to the next page comes up $155 and then put in UPGRADES24 you get another $250 boost. That was for a Samsung S 24.

              • @pdevonporf: Thanks, but what I meant is that on the other thread, people get charged fully for their trade-in value + trade-in boost because Samsung deemed that it didn't match their "good condition" but given that the value of the A04 is now $0, I was wondering whether you had that experience or not.

                • @spam: Yes you're right, you give them your credit card number and they can determine your trade in value. Samsung doesn't give a receipt of your trade in contract where you may have ticked the no boxes which does determine its final value. Which is probably unlawful because it is a contract you've entered into with conditions.

                  • +1

@pdevonporf: You still risk getting 'tradein not received' even when it has been received. It will be resolved eventually but it will take time. You don't know how terrible it is to deal with Samsung estore/Assurant until you have a negative experience with them. 2 out of my 3 tradein experiences were terrible, both on near-zero value phones. (The positive experience was for trading in a near-new phone.)

I'm still so scarred that I could have traded in an S23U for an S24U at $158 during the Labour weekend sale but I didn't because I don't want to have anything to do with Samsung again yet.

                    • @sunshinenz: does the trick of using wise card then delete the card got you in trouble?
Or perhaps use Amex like others then let them battle it with Samsung.

                      • @spam: I used my main credit card. My case hasn't been resolved since August but I think I might as well let it go.

                      • @spam: I purchased on Friday using a Wise digital card, I plan to delete the card as soon as I receive the new phone, just in case Samsung/Assurant try to scew me on the trade in and attempt to charge me for the trade in bonus I received. I'm trading in an unopened A04 so they haven't got any reason to but I don't trust them at all. I plan to film and photograph absolutely everything.

                        • +1

@littletoolate: Thanks for sharing, keep us updated! I'm planning to do it on the next promotion; perhaps for an S25.

                          • @spam: Track and Trace says mine was delivered to them on the 1st of November. I've been checking the status everyday but it never changed until this morning, now it's updated and finished, it now says "Your device passed inspection. Your Trade-In Credit of $0.00 is confirmed", I traded an A04 for $0 so this was the expected amount. So I think mine is finished now. So looks like I didn't need to take all those photos and videos but I don't regret doing it just in case they tried to screw me over.

                            • @littletoolate: Cheers! Hopefully no drama with >$0 value trade in

                    • @sunshinenz: Yes I have dealt with them before and I agree they are a nightmare it took over a month for them to finally get back to me it was like pass the parcel.

                      • @pdevonporf: FWIW while the sale was still on, I tried with a Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB trading in either an A04 and some other device I can't remember where I ticked no on all boxes and both times was offered the boost all the way to the cart. I didn't checkout but it definitely seemed to me the boost was valid. With UPGRADES24 and LOYAL50, it came down to about $1100 when I had the 10% for new members, and $1350 on the web store/no 10%. Don't have access to EPP so didn't try that, and also no 10% members voucher at the time. IIRC the ZFold 6 Pink I quoted somewhere above was also with a completely broken phone. (I generally chose that for the A04, since why not?)

So yeah I was wondering about how they can justify removing the boost as well. I didn't see anything suggesting they would remove the boost if you were wrong, just that you may be charged or credited with what your device was really worth. The A04 is an obvious example where the value is zero so they really shouldn't do anything whatever you declare. But even if you received credit for a good S24 and they claim it's completely broken or you sent an A04 or whatever, the most they should do is charge you for how much you received for the S24 not the phone.

The only case where I can see they justifiably charging if when you either don't send them the tradein or send them something that you're not allowed to tradein. Like if you send a Samsung A05, or any Huawei/Xiaomi etc. In that case I guess they could argue the tradein is invalid since you're not allowed to tradein that device and so cancel the whole thing. I didn't check the T&C carefully but I guess you're also not allowed to send them half a phone or where the battery is swelling or something too.

As for getting in trouble for using a Wise card well it depends on the validity of the contract I guess. If it's a valid contract, in theory they demand you pay and eventually take you to court. Or more likely ask you a few times with increasingly harsh language then sell your debt to a debt collector who will use more extreme measures. However I expect they put themselves in far higher legal jeopardy if they do anything like that than from just charging you card when you 'sort of' gave them permission.

So I expect they'll be far less likely to do it when it might be their fault. And so they'll probably just give up if you use a Wise card and if they complain you reply they're wrong, your phone was as described they must have messed up. Especially if you have photos. Frankly in that case you probably don't even need a full video. Even more if there was really no justification for what they are trying to do e.g. charging you for the boost when at most they should be charging you for the difference between what they claimed they received and what you received credit for. But it is true that just using a Wise card doesn't guarantee you're free from any risk from their shadiness.

  • Has it ended now ? (it now says 25% off and $55 trade-in-bonus)

  • Is this offer still available? Or did I miss out T.T

    • The offer has ended which is quite strange because the email keeps saying there's another day on the timer but it does say it ends on the 28th at 12 pm don't worry there will be plenty more Sales as the 25 draws closer

Edit, the countdown timer is zero now on the email, a few hours ago it said 19 hours

      • Yeah website & T&C it did say 12 pm. I was wondering if this was mistake/dispute over what 12pm means, and they meant midnight but seems noon was right.

Note that if you wanted the Fold6, it's been effectively over since at least this morning as it's out of stock and I doubt will be in stock again before tomorrow. The S24s and Flip6 are still available and so you could do it were it not for it ending.

(The Flip6 crafted black which is the only online exclusive at that capacity is out of stock. So you would only get $550 and not $500. Weirdly the T&C effectively lists a peach and white for the 512GB but these don't seem to be on the main store. Don't know if they're on the EPP, they are listed on their business website although you can't buy anything from there directly, it's just contact us.)

But yeah with Black Friday then Christmas coming up, I'm sure there will be several more chances to get them all at a similar price.

BTW, I didn't see the timer, but I do find noon strange mostly because ending your Labour day sale in the middle of Labour day is a bit weird even if it had decent length with starting on the 24th. Okay the supermarkets did their 3 day sale, as they often do nowadays (1-3 day) which are before the actual holiday and their standard sale cycles always end on Sunday. But for other types of retailers, Labour day sales will generally include the whole of Labour day at least until closing (for physical stores). If anything most other retailers often do their sales well past the actual holiday ending on Tuesday, Wednesday or even Thursday. Wonder if it's confusion from whoever's running the store in the Philippines I think over our holidays. Or perhaps it's just some standard Samsung store thing or had some other reason.

        • Yeah most sales end 12 pm it must be a Philippines time zone thing. I saw the countdown clock and I thought I got plenty of time they probably made a mistake but then I remembered they always seem to end at 12 pm and did the deal 10 minutes before 12.

          • @pdevonporf: Didn't know Samsung sales always end that time, still they could have ended it on the 29th. I wonder if it's because of the 55th anniversary sale. It seems to have started just after and they were already advertising their anniversary before. Looking online I think we're late to start the anniversary sale.

BTW, anniversary sale seems to end 1100 which makes me wonder if they're following US DST although in that case our sales should have ended at 1300 before late September

            • @Nil Einne: Just realised I confused myself, if it was following US DST it should end 1300 not 1100 after US DST ends on 3 November. Also we should have ended at 1100 before DST not 1300. So yeah dunno why it's 1100 next time.

        • Thanks for your reply. But I checked historical deals for the Samsung store, especially EPP deals, and they almost never occur during the typical sale periods such as BF or Boxing Day. They seem to just be Flash sales that spring out of nowhere, and often it's more like once per year. The typical sales period deals are almost always very average or minor deals. This leaves me wondering if I'll have to wait many more months for another similar deal to this. As an aside, funny how previous similar deals were upvoted and commented on many multitudes more than this deal, although the quality of the deals are very similar.

          • @danni621: True but with the S25 being released soon I think they will want to clear out S24 Ultras. I think some sort of flash sale will be likely in November. There was one in September and October
