            @pdevonporf: Did this work for you? The A04 is showing a trade in value of $0 for me and when I get to the IMEI/Serial page it shows $0 and doesn't show the $500 boost.

            Don't want to go buy an A04 and then find out I can't use it for trade in.

              @Stoic: You have to make sure you obviously tick all the boxes and just use any IMEI on any phone that hasn't been used for trade and it will give you a tick, then you go to check out and apply relevant codes, you should see what discount has been applied. On one trade, I just used a random IMEI number because I hadn't received the new A04 in time the trade went through no problem.

                @pdevonporf: Every time I put in a IMEI number for the $0 A04 trade in, using any IMEI from my 2 phones (which are not A04's) it just shows ''sorry an error has occured'' as if the IMEI is wrong or wont work so cant get past that page to see what the discount should be.

                  @Hamster: I ticked all the boxes and it always shows $0.00 for a brand new A04 phone, i use the serial instead of IMEI

                  Also send in my phone box sealed, so they cant tag me on any issues if its never opened.

                  @Hamster: Sometimes Samsung has a glitch because their website is useless and sometimes it benefits you because when they change promotions they overlap because they're so slow to update. I see they updated the website so that could be a reason for it. I just used a random IMEI of my old s23 and a phantom A04 as a trade on a Samsung S24 Total $586.49 on the normal public Samsung site.

                  @Nil Einne: If you're talking about buying a new A04 phone. When I receive the new phone I open the box start the phone put in another Samsung Account email address and get another code from Samsung members app 10% plus another 10% first time App Store. Buy another product put the phone back in its box without the charger and cable and send it to Samsung as a trade in on the previous purchase. By the way the Samsung A04 has a good build quality and excellent battery and very good screen for the money but is a terrible phone and I would not recommend it. It is so glitchy and slow.

                    @pdevonporf: If you need it for the Samsung members app then no choice but to open it. Was just saying that if you wanted to keep it unopened so it's more difficult for them to complain there's a problem as suggested by Huntakillaz, you can't keep the charger and USB C. That said, despite the historic problems it seems especially in NZ if you make enough fuss you can probably get them to cave if they do try to screw you. Also as Huntakillaz mentioned you can point out it's still under warranty so they can ask Samsung to replace it. So I'd probably chose to open it for the charger and cable even if I didn't need the phone for the Samsung member's app.

                    Edit: It sounds like most A04 don't come with a charger anyway? Maybe it was a Spark exclusive thing or something but those currently sold say wall charger sold separately. So too the A05 which seems to be the cheapest current option.

                      @Nil Einne: I've traded four in the last few months, no problems. I don't even think there's any real value in refurnishing them it's more of a marketing thing for people to trade up their old phones rather than people sending in some trash phone out of the bin. The flagship models like iPhones and the newer Samsung's are more likely to be refurnished and would be closely inspected.

                        @pdevonporf: Guess either Noel Leeming site is wrong or maybe new stock doesn't have a charger. With the new price, not sure if it's worth it anyway, maybe better to try and get a used one although not much more time for this sale (assuming want to use it for Samsung members app rather than just tradein).

                        BTW if making up an IMEI note it has a check digit so use a calculator site to make sure you have a valid IMEI.

                          @Nil Einne: I just brought a broken A04 for $11 on trade me I crossed all the boxes added a Samsung S 24 and a S 24+ the total came to $1793 without any discount codes. I can get another hundred dollars off in discount codes but have to wait few days for the members 10%. Any valid IMEI code off one of your phones, doesn't matter whether it's a iPhone as long as it will work. I used one off trade me when they showed the picture of a IMEI just to see what the total discount would be I use that Number as a dummy tester all the time. It's more likely to be a miss print on the Noel lemming site as the boxes were the same from Noel lemming and spark.

                          I found a 10% and discounts $1,478.98

                            @pdevonporf: I'm mostly after a good camera so the Ultra is really where it's at for me but it's a little more than I'd like to spend. I was thinking of a refurb Pixel but looking at prices for a good one made me wonder whether it might be worth just going for the Ultra and getting a new phone if I can get it down to ~$900. Going by OzB, they had some decent deals on Pixel 8s in Australia when the 9 launched but since it's not officially sold here we don't get anything like that unfortunately. I think I started looking a bit late anyway since there were probably a bunch of refurbs 1 month or so after the new model launched but less now.

                            I've never used the Samsung store or app before so have the 10% for new members. But no Samsung devices so no 10% members code and ~$1100 was still a little high (plus whatever I have to spend to get an A04). I did manage to get a 10% from Samsung store agents but only after the sale ended since I started too late. And voucher should expire before any future sale. Also haven't tested if the voucher will stack.

                            But I might look and see if I can get a cheap working well enough to at least use the members app A04 or something so it's easier and I also managed to get access to the Education EPP. So will consider again with their next flash sale. Also the 512GB was OOS by the time I looked and I'm assuming it's not that much more so might prefer that anyway. Of course could just decided the S24 or S24+ camera is good enough.

                              @Nil Einne: Yes the sale was bit more complicated to get the discounts, last time it was 30% off and there were quite a few codes you could stack. You have to be prepared for these sales by having a trade and a Samsung phone to take advantage of these flash sales. If you buy a good A04 or new of trade me you can use that as your members and Samsung account. Brought a new A04 off trade me a few days ago for $107.

    FYI: Samsung seems to have updated their Website, EPP now only allows 1 code max, Normal site allows 3 max
    Trade in values have dropped as well compared to few months back.

          If your tradein value is almost zero, then use a Wise card and you should be fine. Otherwise good luck! One of my 3 did go through without a hitch, the other 2 have been nightmares which I haven't recovered from (one hasn't been resolved since August).

          Make sure you take a photo of the phone's condition, IMEI, the box, the tracking number etc. Samsung trade in has been a nightmare for some people (me included, though I've had a grovelling phone call after I Cc'd the commerce comission)

    Does anyone have insight on trading in the phone you're currently using? How does it work with transferring data? Do you just get a box to send it back so there's room to use the old to set up the new?

      You have 7 days to return the new phone, use the "Smartswitch" app to transfer most of your data and apps (check signins/backups for messaging apps like whatsapp and signal) Factory reset and send. I think they give you packaging to send it in .

      You have plenty of time to send the trade back after you receive your new item. It doesn't matter what box you send it in. I just use the box I received with the new phone .The deal for contract lasts a month although they say seven days after you receive your new item. I've sent them back 10 to 2 weeks later. I've done four trades lately and the only glitch was nz post taking a long time to deliver one (3 weeks). Brought a new 55" QLED QE1D 4K $740 delivered including $100 trade in for any TV under 50 inches I just sent an old monitor. I just used New A04 Samsung phone that cost $100 from spark and $130 from Noel Leeming. Or you can take your luck with a secondhand one from trade me. It's better than giving them your old late model phone if it's in good condition it's better to sell it on Trade or Facebook.

        Doesn't look like new A04 at those prices is an option any more, seems to be less available and expensive perhaps their stock all got sold to turn into tradeins. A05 seems the next best option currently $169 at Noel Leeming.

          I just assumed since the A04 could be traded in the A05 could be as well, but seems it can't. Since the A04 has zero value anyway, if you don't want to use the phone for the Samsung app could just buy the cheapest A04 you could find and tick all the boxes about it being damaged etc.
