I have one of these, best router I have had. The silly Huawei ISP ones only allowed up to 16 devices, which is useless if you're getting into home automation :/

Good deal. Shame there isn't a 2 pack deal.

Just a note that the Pro version can't be mixed with the older non-Pro version(s).

Frustrating pricing. I also only want a 2 pack.

  • Which ISP is using Huawei ones? isn't that a security risk?

    • Lots of them do. Why do you believe its a security risk?

      • China

        • And?……… still not a concern.

    • Most of Sparks hardware

  • The number of devices a router can support is influenced by both the manufacturer's design and the Wi-Fi standard it uses.

    1. Manufacturer's Design: The hardware capabilities of the router, such as its processing power, memory, and the quality of its components, play a significant role. High-end routers typically have better hardware, allowing them to handle more devices simultaneously¹.

    2. Wi-Fi Standard: The Wi-Fi standard (e.g., 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax) also affects the number of devices. Newer standards like Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) are designed to support more devices with better efficiency and performance compared to older standards².

In practice, while some routers can theoretically support up to 250 devices, the actual number can be lower due to factors like network traffic, signal strength, and the types of devices connected³.

Is there a specific router model or Wi-Fi standard you're considering?

  • Can you buy 3 and sell 1 and will still work?

    • Yeah my house is definitely not 6600 square feet… maybe 2 will easily cover a 100m house (or even one) - can these be gifted to a friend/family member ? or are they locked to a single network ?
