140
FLASHNOVUPGRADES24UPGRADEZLOYAL50

The deal is back on for 24hour

Given the past popularity, this is the current deal similar to the ones they had in the past.

This time, however, only the 15% off RRP + Trade-in Boost of $400-$500 depending on which S24 series OR $600 Trade-in Boost for Z series.

UPGRADES24 and LOYAL50 works.

Probably not as good as the deal we had before and may have a better deal on Black Friday later.

    Is this new?

Purchases with Q Card, AfterPay, or G Pay are not eligible for trade-in.

I think it is. But I found that you can use klarna one time cards to purchase in 4x installments.

      • +1

The AfterPay and G Pay are new. The Q Card as in their Labour day flash sale "Purchases with Q Card are not eligible for trade-in."

Edit: Just checked and the Q Card thing first appeared in the 24 September flash sale. It wasn't in the 10 September one although their details are fairly incomplete. I didn't check any of the other sale T&C

Samsung is becoming the Briscoes of the tech world. There's sales nearly every week. I'd wait for Black Friday, or even the pre-BF sales, haha.

    • +1

Yet they still don't seem to be able to have decent stock levels. Flash sale barely started and already the S24 Ultra 512GB is down to only the black.

  • can someone give the final prices please?

    • For a trial, I can get S24+ to $801.65 with Iphone XS Max 256GB:
      Base price: $1704
      Trade in: $345
      Other discount $852.35

      • Thank you appreciates it!

  • Just to confirm you do need to enter the FLASHNOV voucher. During the Labour day sale, I didn't seem to need the FLASHOCT, in fact it wasn't accepted even if they were advertising it. Wonder if this means you can't use all three of the LOYAL50, members or other 10% and UPRADES24/UPGRADEZ?

Also FLASHNOV does not work on the education EPP store at the moment.

You can use EPPPAYDAY in the EPP store for 50% off the folds and S24s

      • Thanks. Worth trying for sure. From some quick tests with zero base tradein value, it works out better for the S24 Ultra 512GB compared to FLASHNOV+UPGRADES24+LOYAL50+10% app welcome bonus (which is $1319.23) . But it's worse for the S24 Ultra 256GB or S24 8GB 256GB compared to the earlier combos which are $1127.98 and $615.98 respectively. If you have the member or other extra discount probably all worse although don't know about the ZFolds etc. If you can only do FLASHNOV+UPGRADES24+LOYAL50 with no 10% I think it'll be better for all.

Should mention I've never used education EPP before so I have the 10% welcome but I'm pretty sure the EPPPAYDAY is replacing it since any mention of it disappears.

*NB I'm not saying the actual EPP prices since I'm technically not supposed to.

        Edit:
Actually my guess was wrong. The S24 256GB 8GB with FLASHNOV+LOYAL50+UPGRADES24 and no 10% is $701.65 which is still better than Education EPP with EPPPAYDAY. See also Huntakillaz post above.

But just confirming without the 10% and $0 base value tradein prices for the FLASHNOV+LOYAL50+UPGRADES24 are S24 Ultra 512GB $1,494.15 and 256GB $1,281.65. Both these prices are worse than the Samsung Education EPP with EPPPAYDAY.

        • I cant seem to get UPGRADES24 to work on the normal store, oh my bad it is a trade-in boost code.

          • +1

@Fox419: Yeah sorry you need to find something you can tradein e.g. a broken phone on Trademe that they accept for this to work.

      • Thanks for this code, I picked up a base S24 for family, they were on a cracked base S10 so due for an upgrade.

    • I found I have a working 10% code that Samsung provided me previously and can now confirm the need to use FLASHNOV means you can't use both the 10% and LOYAL50 ("The redemption limit of this voucher has been reached."). I mean you could sacrifice some other code but the LOYAL50 makes the most sense to sacrifice.

  • S24 Ultra 256GB
    IPx 256 Trade-in $375
    FlashNov $612.35
    Loyal50 $50
    UPG24 $250

Total: $1,206.65 - Is this a good deal?

    • I got a S24U 512gb for $660 incl S21U tradein with the last sale however that was a EPP one

    • No

    • If you're able to get the 10% new app bonus and the 10% coupon you'll get a reasonable better deal.

For the 10% coupon since I'm guessing you can't use the Samsung member app as you have an iPhone, try asking on either live chat or by email. I had more success by email but YMMV.

      • went through live chat and was told they dont have one available.

  • Not as good as the 850 notbadtech deal the other day it seems?

    • +1

If we put aside the Exynos vs Snapdragon differences, you can get a S24 256GB for $701.65 with $0 base value tradein using the FLASHNOV+UPGRADES24+LOYAL50 combo which I think should be available for most people. I don't think it should be that hard to find a tradeinable phone for $50 from TradeMe. I'd say $750 plus probably better warranty support is worth the effort of finding that tradein but others might disagree.

That said, it might be a little late now to find a tradein i.e. you'll be rushing and might have to spend more. (From what people have said, you have 7 days after receiving the phone to send the tradein. However given Assurant's issues, it would be best to send them what you said you would even if it's a phone they should accept. So once you've chosen you tradein item you've limited what you can hunt for.)

Note that if you have a 10% coupon or 10% new app user you're even better off. Even more if you can have both.

And you can probably spend less on buying the tradein but $50 including shipping seemed a decent maximum without spending a lot of effort. E.g. this went https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/mobile-phones/mobile… for under $50 allup and while it might have gone higher if competing still gives an idea of what's possible. (You might have been able to get more than $0 base value from that phone but given Assurants issues I feel it's better to trade $0 as the base value.)

      • Still quite a bit of work required considering the effort to acquire an eligible 2nd hand phone at a reasonable cost (usually no buy now)

        • It's not worth it for this sale but later on there will be better When you buy a second hand working eligible Samsung phone you can also download the members app register a new Samsung account Plus the Samsung shop first sale adds up to a 20% discount plus the trade in phone you've just brought.

        • A lot depends how sure you are that you want to buy something, and how much risk you want to take IMO, also how much of a Cheapies you are

There's currently a S8 with $149.99 buy now + $9.60. I wouldn't do it myself but if you're sure you want to get something IMO buying this should work out. As mention by pdevonporf it means you should be able to get a 10% from Samsung members and not have to worry about trying to get a 10% from Samsung. The risks are that this really is the last flash sale, future ones don't give much of a bonus for tradein (but anything $160 or more means you don't lose out) or they remove the S8 from the list of valid tradeins). As said there's risks but IMO even spending $160 you'd still likely come out better off than any other near future deal without tradein even for a simple S24 256GB assuming you're able to all the coupons etc. E.g. it would be $150 better than the Notbadtech deal.

It also looks like you can get a A04 from Expert Infotech and I think it's in stock rather than we need to order it from Hong Kong but not sure. Again same risks but one option here is you don't buy it now, in future sales you check it's still available, order what you want then order from Expert Infotech. You will need to give the wrong IMEI I think others have done this and came out okay but of course always some risk I guess. You'd also need to get a 10% from elsewhere. If in Auckland you could see if you can pickup the A04 before buying or alternatively you could also look on Trademe for anything you can buy now which you can trade in and see if you can get the seller to give you the IMEI after you buy now but before they send it. If you're doing this also no reason to restrict yourself to Samsungs, especially iPhones and maybe Pixels might be other places to look out for.

          • @Nil Einne: I rounded a bit too much so it's only $120 compared to NotBadTechs previous deal, still decent saving though

    • Already cheaper with accessories than notbadtech deal with just the 2 codes and free shipping add the other two and its way cheaper

    Galaxy Z Fold6 512GB (not Online Exclusive) 1,904.16 1,733.25 1688.24 1512.33

    Notes:

    • If I didn't provide a price for some option it's because it wasn't in stock when I was testing this. Despite their frequent flash sales, Samsung still seems to have problems keeping stuff in stock including their online exclusive 512GB Z Fold6. I don't know whether some of them are just never stocked on their NZ store, but at least the Titanium Grey S24 Ultra 512GB is something I saw go out of stock.

    • I tested and the Galaxy S24 FE is ineligible for the main coupons currently so is unlikely to be a good buy.

    • Although Samsung is desperate for you to use the $55 Evoucher, it is part of the anniversary sale and AFAICT invalidated by FLASHNOV. Check the prices carefully, and you'll find you're paying full price - whatever other discounts for any item you added with the Evoucher. Remove FLASHNOV and you'll get the Evoucher discount. The evoucher is invalidated straight away if you already added FLASHNOV despite Samsung still trying to convince you that you need to use it in the previous page.

    • Prices will be worse this time compared to the Labour day sale because you need to use FLASHNOV. During the Labour day one, FLASHOCT was advertised but not needed or even accepted. Due to the 3 CODE limit, you can't add LOYAL50 with a 10% code. Prices will be about $50 less if future sales also don't require the flash code, e.g. during 11.11 or Black Friday even if the sale terms are otherwise the same assuming stacking and the codes don't change. I think prices will be less than $50 less given the way the code interacts with the other discounts.

    • 10% code I used was a YQZ one given by email when I asked during the Labour day sale although only received a reply after the sale. You can also try live chat although I didn't have success https://www.cheapies.nz/node/40680 . If you want something fast & live chat doesn't work, perhaps calling will, I didn't try that as I don't like calling :-p I assume the code gives the same discount as the 10% members one but I don't know it's possible there are differences in when it applies. Might be useful if someone can confirm any single one of my tests with a 10% code is the same for them with a member code. Since I haven't done it myself, I don't understand the Samsung members codes that well but I believe if you have a Samsung mobile device and install the Samsung members app and login etc, you should eventually be given 10% Samsung store codes.

    • 10% welcome bonus is for new users of the Samsung store app. I think you can't have used it on your account before but I don't know much else like whether you also don't get it with a different account on the same instance of the app. (Hint: modern Android devices can have multiple device user accounts. Also the Samsung store app seems to run fine on Windows Subsystem for Android, at least if you have the user release with Play Store added although I didn't try purchasing anything with it. )

    • Since Samsung technically forbid sharing EPP price details, I'm not willing to provide specific prices of the EPP store. If you have access to EPP, EPPPAYDAY mentioned above by Stoic might be better for the higher value items, especially if you lack one or both 10% options.

    • I used the A04 with all nos as the tradein device for my tests but I think any device with all 5 nos will be zero base value. I chose this as the easiest to compare. I found it confusing in previous threads when people had extra value from the tradein. Your prices will be less if you have something to tradein that is of value and you don't want to keep. But for people who don't, I'd try to get something for $50 or less from Trademe, Facebook marketplace or whatever (so add $50 to these prices) that is accepted by Samsung and treat it as worthless. If you get something from the tradein besides the bonus great but assume base is zero. I would avoid anything that doesn't turn on or that is locked (might be stolen) and definitely anything with a bulging battery but otherwise, if it has a cracked screen or whatever seems to be it should be fine. IMO given Assurant's known issues https://www.cheapies.nz/node/47851 I wouldn't buy something more expensive just because you think you might come out positive. Combining risks the seller is wrong about the condition and Assurant might mess you up, it's not worth. While Assurant seems to have taken away bonuses too IMO provided you sent a valid tradein it's very difficult for them to justify. At most, they could take away any base value.

    • Amazing! Thanks for taking the time and effort to document all of this.

    • how do you get pass the IMEI number check if the device doesn't turn on lol

      • Can you read the IMEI printed on back of the phone?

      • Could try the sim tray?

      • Despite Assurants weirdness others seem to have gotten by okay if they give the wrong IMEI although as always YMMV. If you used this to cover a stolen phone this would probably be caught but otherwise I think the main thing is it's the same phone and same condition. Any valid IMEI seems to be accepted for I think any phone. (I thought the higher value phones were more of a problem but I think I was just screwing up and/or the Samsung site was broken when I was trying this as it seems fine now.) I think the IMEI checker is only used to weed out those that have been reported stolen and maybe some other stuff that prevents accepting them (recalls maybe). Some people have given the IMEI for their other phones but you can also make one up completely, just use an IMEI check digit generator.

    • How can i use following codes please:
      10% CODE+10% welcome bonus

      • 10% members code.

Either download the Samsung members app (I think it needs a Samsung device), and get it from their, or ask samsing via chat / email / phone call. (seems about 50:50 if they give it to you.

10% welcome bonus is applied automatically at checkout to new accounts. If you have used your account before you will need to set up a new one.

    • If you haven't used Trademe in a while take care. I bid $7 higher than I meant to because I misunderstood their mobile centric site and though I was autobidding but wasn't. As it turned out someone later beat me anyway so it didn't matter still could have been bad. Note you don't autobid by default.

  • Can someone help clarify what's the best deal on base S24 without trade in?

    • Do you have EPP? If not then if you're fine with parallel imported probably NotBadTech at the moment. Alternatively if you aren't desperate it's probably worth waiting for Black Friday or even after as it gets closer to Christmas and paying attention to Noel Leeming etc. You can currently get the S24 for $1076.32 with FLASHNOV + LOYAL50 + 10% CODE + 10% welcome bonus. There might be some other options which will get a slighter better deal but I think without the bonus for tradein the Samsung store is far less guaranteed to be the best option. Also this assumes you can do the 10% CODE + 10% welcome. I don't know if there are other 10% which stack with each other which might help more but I would guess not since no one has mentioned them in previous deals instead of LOYAL50

  • Looking to buy s23 ultra and trade in my iphone 12 pro max 128gb. Can somebody pls explain how to avail 10% code and 10% welcome?

The 10% welcome is when you use the samsung shop app 1st time+ 10% member code is if you have samsung members app (only on samsung phone)

        • Interesting are you doing 256 or 512GB S24 Ultra? Does you app say enjoy your 10% welcome bonus at the top? Prices I'm getting seem different from yours but not sure why

Reading again, sounds like you mean 256GB. On Android app with your options for 256GB S24 Ultra I'm getting $692.98 with 10% welcome bonus, FLASHNOV, LOYAL50, UPRADES24

          Base price: $1555.33
          Tradein: -$690.00
          Other discounts: -$912.35
          Other discounts: -$153.67

          And 512GB S24 Ultra is $884.23

          Base price: $1784.08
          Tradein: -$690.00
          Other discounts: -$949.85
          Other discounts: -$174.92

I'm fairly sure you must have 10% welcome bonus as will be a bigger difference without it. Only thing I can think of is some Android vs Apple app difference perhaps relating to Apple taking a cut although I thought they didn't on physical product purchases.

Edit: For clarity I'm assuming you're using the Samsung app on your iPhone so are using the iOS app. Thinking more perhaps there's a difference in the way the Apple 10% welcome bonus interacts with other discounts than the Android one? Not an intentional difference but just since they might be different discounts the way they were applied might be different.

    • Since you don't have a 10% members code, you might be able to get a 10% code if you ask via live chat, phone or email https://www.cheapies.nz/node/40680

I had success via email not live chat and didn't try phone. However my code only arrived after the previous sale was over and will likely be the same for you given how late it is. Given history I'm sure there will be another flash sale likely with the same discounts so depends if you'll wait

      • Even if i get a code, i can only use 3 vouchers at a time in my cart, right?

        • Yes you have to remove LOYAL50, but it should be worth I think $50-100 if you use 10% code instead

  • Tried getting a10% code in chat but they said there's no such thing. "The 10% that we have is applicable only on our Shop app as our first time shoppers on the app." Maybe I should try email them?

You could try again later and hope you might have more success with a different agent but yeah probably email. No guarantee you'll get a 10% even then of course, haven't been that many recent reports of either success of failure. Maybe I just got lucky.

One suggestion in previous thread was to say you have other Samsung devices like a TV or fridge but can't use the Samsung members app because you don't have a mobile device but don't know if this really makes a difference. In my email I didn't mention I had another Samsung device but did mention I can't install the Samsung members app because I don't have a Samsung mobile device and even sent a screen shot from Google Play but no idea if this made any difference. I was given multiple codes including the 10%.

Edit: Might be better to use a different browser or something if you are going to do live chat again since you might be more likely to be directed to the same agent or at least the agent might see your previous request.

My 1st attempt on live chat, Sheng gave me 10% code 🥳

  • Got my Fold 6 for $602. I still don't know how their math works but I went ahead and got it anyways lol. I use the shop app (probably got the 10% off first order) and applied 10% off member code + FLASHNOV + UPGRADEZ

Anyone can share their trade-in experience? I've never trade-in anything with Samsung before. Are they pretty easy and straightforward? :-)

Unfortunately many people have found they aren't easy and straight forward https://www.cheapies.nz/node/47851

Some people go as far as to use a Wise card to make it harder for Samsung to try and charge them any more. Since you already paid, you could reduce the limit on your card if you card provider allows this (check you card provider's, app they probably do, ASB does) and this works for your usage. However they might still pursue you to pay any extra they allege you owe so hard to say how well this works.

Other than that general suggestion is to take evidence. At least photographs but maybe even video wrapping the tradein device so Assurant can't claim you sent in something other than what you sent in. Especially important for you since prices suggest you have a fairly high value tradein

Edit: For clarity stopping Samsung from charging extra will be a benefit since it means they're the ones who have to pursue you for any extra they allege you owe instead of you trying to purse them or needing to ask your card provider to reverse the charge or whatever. But I don't think it would be a good idea to completely ignore any requests/demands from them that you pay, instead explain why they're wrong and send evidence. If they still reject your claims, reply as relevant. The good thing when they haven't charged you is they can't just ignore you and if they take ages to respond, who cares?

      • Thanks very much for your suggestion :-) I'll definitely do a video packaging up the trade-in and will take photos of every bits of the phone before sending it in.

  • I'm expiring this since it's over. .

  • wow i was late it's now out of stock
