  • Put up their rates so much in the last few months or so. Used to rent them quite frequently for about $30 a day, now even with this discount it's at least $100

    • Do you have any recommendations for Hamilton? I reserved a vehicle with them for a couple of days, $254.55 for a Mitsubishi Eclipse 2WD or similar.

      • Shop around really.
Usually float between EZI and Budget in my case

        • Every thing leads to EZI, Budget cars shows almost double. Guess I will stick with what I got.

      • +1

I used to use "RaD car hire" despite the name because they were walking distance plus great to deal with, and cheap. They were set to sell up and retire but then covid, now they have got out by the looks and the new owners have moved out of town and the prices are up. Website says the cheapest is $47/day before all the add-ons.

        • I've done a $1 return for Rad before. Amazing service and really quite flexible and generally real nice people. This was quite awhile ago though

      • Previously there were discount codes floating around associated with CSC, PSA and similar organisations, that were quite compelling. The risk is they might ask you to provide evidence of your membership which could scarper any holiday plans.

      • Mevo is an option too, and I think they include fuel for the price as well
