I have this waffle maker and it’s great. The basic waffle recipe that comes with the instructions is fool proof and it is what I use every time.

Honestly no better than our cheap $50ish Beville waffle maker.

YMMV but ours was a gift that was used maybe a dozen times in a decade (mostly in the first two months I think) before getting donated.
I would think it might be the sort of thing you could pick up for $10 at a charity shop, at least to try out and see if you'll use it much ongoing.
Might even be our old one!
