Shopback Experiences a Bit Hit and Miss?

Whats everyones experiences with shopback?

a trial from temu worked ok with cashback, however with chemist warehouse I purchased for the the first time through the website, during the 100% cash back promo up to $15 - see here (https://www.cheapies.nz/node/49492)

And got $0.50c or so cashback.

I raised a missing cashback claim, and they upped this by another $0.40c

My total purchase was above $20.00, so no idea why I didn't get the $15.00 cash back, and they haven't explained it.

EDIT: Gotyourback on here did end up fixing it really quickly once I messaged him. So thats a positive at least, but I am still unsure why it didnt go through in the first place.

    I made a Chemist Warehouse order with all new account/details and it still didn't track at the "new customer" rate. I decided to cancel my entire order.

    If anyone here actually DID get a new user cashback rate @ CS during the promo period, please share. Perhaps it was an issue on CS's side.

    • How do you see what rate the cashback is tracking at?
      Wish I had been aware I would get shafted so I could cancel my order and just purchase at my local pharmacy and save the shipping cost.

      • Unfortunately you can't see what exact % it tracks at, you just have to guess based on the cashback amount.

    Same here with CW and apparently the cashback is still pending, so they can't investigate further…

  • I feel lile im consistently having to report false amount and shopback really puts me off. Agoda is the worst

    • Just a tip with Agoda / booking.com, the prices fluctuate a lot based on referral source

      If you open shopback and go to the booking portal, it'll give you a rate of, say $110
      If you then search via google you'll be taken to the listing at a lower rate eg $100

      It's not in the official booking/shopback page, and in my experience hasn't tracked against my account on it's own, but whenever I've raised a claim with this method it's been accepted.

    Ive mostly given up on SB after they didnt track my temu order in full. My partner then tried the other day and it wasnt tracked in full either.

    • Someone a while back suggested using the shopback app for me after i complained of tracking issues.

      Since then i clear shopback app data, login, go to temu via shopback app, make a new temu account, make purchase.
      Perfect new user tracked rates for the last 8 x(100-110%) cashback rates I've bought during

      • The app is so slow when navigating a website within it, atleast in my experience. No idea if its even safe logging into other platforms within their app but Google seems to allow it.

        • You are right its pretty slow and sometimes captca doesnt work

        • also through shopback app means no push notification spam - to a new cell number also means no text promo spam either. But Im struggling for stuff to buy now - even for free there seems to be very little range on temu compared to likes of aliexpress

  • I signed up to Dosh and they were supposed to give a $10 credit to my Shopback account. But they only gave me $8 for some reason. Tried contacting them and it is just a AI chat bot and it won't let me get past the built in answers. Hopeless.

    Yeah, my chemist warehouse order for the 100% cashback was the exact same; only got 42c and it's still pending, so I can't do anything about it…

    • They're tracking all the cyber monday orders wrong. Mine was also around 40c when it should be around $10. If you raise a support ticket on their chatbot you can get it adjusted. Mine is still pending but a friend had theirs changed to the full 100% cashback for new users

    Yup, ive stopped using them. It seems very scammy, unfortunately seems to be common in this business. Ive had good success with cashback au.

    Ive requested a $50 withdrawal on 3rd December. Its been more than 5 days and still no cash received. I submitted a ticket and was told "We'd like to inform you that our bank partners have alerted us about unforeseen delays in processing, which will impact our usual agreed timeline for payouts. As a result, you may experience some delays in receiving your payout.
     
    The processing date begins today, and we anticipate the withdrawal to be successfully processed within the next 5 working days"

    I replied and asked why does the processing 5 day period only start today.
    Received the exact same response as above.

  • Hit and miss eh.

    Seems to depend on the vendor/shop. Some things can be 100% all the time and pretty much instant.

    Some (Like Temu) seem to be hit and miss and you have to follow a very much defined process to get them.

    No issues with payouts thou.

    As I'm mentioned before. Nothing I have done has tracked properly, and after requesting it and being told "sorted" I received significantly less than the advertised cash-back. So many times it is clearly a feature, not a bug.

    Of course the rep here has also been doing damage control and claiming again "contact and we'll sort it" But zero results.

    Use the two others would be my advice. Zero issues.

  • Overall been a good experiance, had about $800 of cashbacks tracked and about 50% confirmed and paid out so dar.

    Tracks about 90% of the time for me and have been able to get the other 10% sorted by puting in a claim.
    Had one or two come through at a lower than advertised rate, but ive also had one or two come through at a higher rate so cant complain.

    Mainly been Aliexpress, Temu, Booking.com and Agoda

    I briefly tried a cash back site (I can't remember the name, there's so many) that was dong the round on here a couple of years ago. I think I got maybe $70 back from a Dell purchase? The other few times was a miss. Purchases not tracked, including quite a significant one they advertised which convinced me to pull the trigger (50% rental car hire). I requested a review, but received no response. The time and effort to keep bugging them was more energy than I had available, so I put it down to a life experience letting me know never to be swayed by such a thing ever again.

    As far as I'm concerned, they're scams.

  • Largely positive. Initially I had an issue with New User Temu cashback, past that it's been good (mostly do Chemist Warehouse, Doordash). Maybe its a new user thing. Withdrawn over $150. Quite limited, would be happy if they add more food options (they stopped doing it for Dominos, in australia they do pizza hut)

    Also 50% cashback for doordash today, someone can post as a deal

  • Personally, I’m facing several issues with withdrawals, some of them are being rejected. I’ve re-added my bank account details, and the withdrawals show as “paid,” but no money has arrived in my account! Several days have passed, and it’s incredibly frustrating to reach a real person to resolve the issue through the website, there is no way to contact them directly there.

    • Me too. Due to it been my first withdrawal I thought I entered the withdrawal details incorrectly.
      May I ask in what format you've entered the bank account?
      I entered my entire bank number in the following format, without spaces or hyphens
      01-0XXX-03XXXXX-00

      • I used the same format. The strange thing is that I made a couple of withdrawals in the past (for low amounts), and they worked well. However, now my recent withdrawals (for higher amounts) aren’t working, which makes me very suspicious.

        • I was the opposite where ive had previously large sums paid (100+) now i have a failed withdraw of $20 twice now
          I wonder if its with the changes to names now being verified with payments that has been introduced to banks recently? At least thats what im hoping is the case

            • @gotyourback: Yes, it is very frustrating. I really expect that you can solve the issue of why one of my withdrawals shows as paid in the ShopBack account but hasn't been received yet in my bank account! More than a week has passed.
