I get the Oops! We can't find the page you're looking for.

  • Went into JB just before and was talked out of it as he was saying that they come in fully charged, but just sit there. So it is quite likely that the battery will be completely done and need to be replaced anyway.

Warranty starts from day of purchase so it can and will be replaced under warranty.
      *I am ex retail.

I thought it was cycles that kill batteries

      • It's not just cycles, anything that has got a battery in it that is continually turned on which these have happened while on display will completely screw the battery for lack of a better word.

Anything that has a battery on continual charged that doesn't have a cycle on it will be damaged as well.

Most likely these will have been on display for years……

Look at how MOST people treat laptops……. The majority of the population have them plugged in most the time and never cycle the battery.

Very commonplace in businesses where they have a laptop …… They go to some meeting in another city some months or years down the track and the first thing they do is moan that their battery doesn't work as was left on continual charge 24/7 since it was installed on the desk…… (Again a previous life and retail and in IT)

        • Wait, I didn’t catch these being demo models anywhere in the post ?

I think most of our guys are on hp pro books or Lenovo something’s that do the battery care thing, and I’m reasonably sure most laptops do the on AC power thing as well. But everyone is insistent on wfh I wonder if that still happens as much haha

          • @Grandma: Have a look at the other comments, one person went into the store and talked to them and they are all floor models at various stores around the country.

@Dan Baker: Bit sad that they don't mention that on the website

            • @Dan Baker: my brain must be fried because all i see is

'Went into JB just before and was talked out of it as he was saying that they come in fully charged, but just sit there. So it is quite likely that the battery will be completely done and need to be replaced anyway.'

And stuff in boxes does usually come charged

          • @Grandma: New devices come charged, and since this one is so old its battery would've depleted and sat dead for some time. This is not good for a battery's health

            • @Plug: Doesn't matter when you just use the warranty and replace it.

  • And the galaxy watch 4 is here for $144.

    • Second hand lol

      • Yeah but at least it's refurbished and has a warranty.

Cheap watch that still functions and is newer than this one.

"refurbished" generally means "we spent 10min testing it, put a $2 strap on it, and gave it a clean"

At best it means "we spent 10mins testing it, and replaced the screen cover/battery with an aftermarket one, put a $2 strap on it and gave it a clean"

At very best it's the above done by Samsung and is the same except the $2 strap and screen cover are official.

        • Are there any that don't have a fitness bent? I'm more interested in telling the time and being able to receive notifications when I'm away from my phone.

  • The battery usually don't last long.
Read the fine print. I bought one Samsung watch and in their website they stand that the battery last 26 hours (and that would be measured without any capability enabled, only as a watch).
Even though looks cheap. It is not a good watch

  • Off topic, is the Galaxy Fit3 suitable for kids (10 yo)?

    • Mi watch is pretty good for kids, and olds,
battery last quite a long time, is slim and lightweight too so doesn't feel bulky when wearing

        • Yup exactly, wasn't sure how far they drop I remember getting the Band 6 for Mum it was $50 back then, Not a single issue since i got it years ago.

Picked this up for my son from Samsung last week for $42 with all the samsung promo codes in an earlier post, pretty decent with the usual features you would find in their more expensive smart watches such as calling/notifications.

      • Did you buy the watch with other things to push it over the threshold before applying codes? I don't remember it being ever that cheap.
