  • FFS!! Bad luck. Just bought stuff on the 50% cashback yesterday lol

  • If I’m buying on Agoda and it’s pay at a later date how does that work with ShopBack?

  • +6

Is it a bit cheeky that the chemistwarehouse page on Shopback doesn't say its capped at $10 !!
It didn't say so when they had the 50% going either.
    Poor advertising

    • Agree. I have next to zero confidence when using shopback. Very little transparency about caps etc except on some.

    • +3

Usually it's says it's capped on the day.
Since this is on 31st, you won't see it till that date.
If there's to cap, then it's uncapped. And always good idea to screenshot the page before placing an ordeer

      • +1

They had the 50% cashback yesterday. I have screenshots to prove the cap wasnt mentioned on the website.

They have next to no customer support post purchase, so they basically rely on you giving up. They are an Aus website, so not much you can do about it.

        • this is so true, i saw everyone commenting 50% but I couldnt see where and it wasn't clear. Not even the terms and conditions said it. I was skeptical and rather than taking risk, i just didnt buy. Some said it was capped at $10, some 15 and some said $20

          • @Saturdaysr4thedealz: You gotta check the app, it shows the % and cap.

            • @Kirkitplayer3: Doesn’t matter what the app says. It’s false advertising.
              @gotyourback

              • @drgshah: I assume you've mostly been using the website.

I agree they should show the cap everywhere, there are some great deals and for now you just gotta check the app. Just how it is right now

        • +1

yes is a real mess! I made an order, expecting to get 50% back, and there was NO mention of a cap. I also have screenshots to prove it.
@gotyourback Your company really needs to sort this out asap and put the caps back on the webpage.

        • +2

The still have to abide by NZ laws, so I'm sure you can send them to commerce commision for false advertising if it continues/they dont fix the problem

        • It showed $15 credit pending completion of sale

    • +2

Their new layout for the website removed mentions of caps on the store pages.

They really should add this back. Right now you gotta use the app to see what the cap actually is.

    • Yeah I got stung by this yesterday too.

When the $10 tracked came through, I was fortunate enough that cancelling the order was still possible.

      • Yeah I cancelled mine as well, When I saw the $10 I went "Oh S**t, they do have a cap.". Fortunately it's a click and collect order and so could be cancelled.

  • Is it just for 1 order or can I order multiple times?

    • +3

Based on their chatbot, if it is not specified then it is for unlimited times. I got 3x$10 cashback the other day from 3 seperate orders.

  • Just used 50% yesterday..

  • how does cashback work exactly

    • +1

you purchase via the cashback site/app, the cashback site gets a referral commission and then you wait a long time to see some money.

  • So if I buy one item at $10 and another at $8 over two transactions, does that mean I can get $18 back?

    • +1

$10 and $8 include GST which isn't cashbackable, so you'll see something less than $18, like $15

    • +1

Basically yes but you it's cashback after GST is taken out.

      $10 item - 15% GST = $8.50 cashback

You'd need to spend roughly $12 to get the full $10.

      • +1

Just a quick correction on the maths.

The GST on a $10.00 item would be actually be $1.30 rounded to the nearest cent not $1.50, resulting in a cashback of $8.70 rounded.

You would need to spend $11.50 or more to get the full $10.00 cashback.

Previous deal of 50% casback. I made 5 × $23 transactions and recieved $10 back for each one. In relation to the 100% it should work based on the previous offer.

  • I don't think I've ever successfully received any cash back from shopback

    • +3

I have only used the app and would say 90% of mine track okay. You can report a missing cash back via the click history and it gets loaded onto your account very quickly - well this is my experience anway $950 withdrawn to my bank account to date.

It starts in 4 days, as per the details in the post.
