Sorry for the downvote but I have never had a worse experience with a retailer (and I have had a lot of poor experiences with poor service from broadband providers, but these people really take the cake).

    Don't touch Zeronet.

We used them for broadband, not mobile, but I would expect the same awful product and service for whatever they are doing.

After many months of trying to get support from them for extremely poor speeds (we were paying for 300/100, but usually got around 70 for download speeds), we gave up trying. They basically had stopped helping and told us to do all the normal things to sort out the connection, restarts etc, then support told us we needed wifi extenders and that it was our problem not theirs (mind you, we have a tiny 90sqm house in whoch you are never more than a few metres and a single wall away from the router…oh yes, and my partner also works in the field, so he knows his stuff).

In the end we won a disputes tribunal case against them and got a bunch of money back including the early termination fees, paying for an extra month we didnt use, and discounts for the many months of sub-par service we had during which time Zeronet was deemed to have not made sufficient effort to resolve the issues.

Seriously, I have never dealt with such frustration in my life. Go elsewhere.

    • Ouch, will definitely be stearing clear of these guys then….

That's not correct. Downvoting due to issues with the retailer/product is fully legitimate.

    • How did you prepare for the tribunal? I might want copy your path. Thanks.

Basically build up a pack with all conversations documented. I just sent through the email chain, but if you have had various chats and phone calls it might pay to combine them somehow.
I also sent through the screenshots I had of speedtest readings to support my claims of slow speeds.

I think if I had got myself more organised, writing up a little table/timeline showing every conversation I had with Zeronet, and speedtest readings along that period of time. That would have made it really clear for the tribunal.

In the end I didnt actually have to sit the tribunal because Zeronet was a no show… which didnt surprise me given how little they cared during the process I had with them.

The tribunal originally told me they would reschedule the session but after a week I got a response saying they ruled in my favour based on the evidence I had provided, so they must have reviewed everything and got what they needed.
It was pretty clear from the email chain how poor the support was.

Honestly, if zeronet had just let me out of the fixed term (which I was almost at the end of), and not tried to charge me for additional months they would have saved everyone a whole lot of hassle. Because they insisted on holding me to the contract (even when they didnt hold their own side of the contract regarding product), I told them I would take them to DT for break costs AND the costs for months of subpar speeds. So it ended up costing them an extra $300…

I hope they learned something from it. Good luck with your case!

          I concur regarding the timeline.

A timeline is almost always a good idea for disputes in general - it makes it clear for other parties what has happened when.

  • Looks to use the 2degrees network ok ish prices but as stated above sounds like their CS needs improvement.

  • Some bad rep for zeronet broadband service as well. So maybe stay away from them

    • what happened?

  • Just remember that a skinny sim is $1 at PB and near that at other retailers to get you a number to port into them to get the discount.

I have no idea if the skinny sims need activation and topping up before they can port or not as I always just use them without topping up to get incoming SMS activations, but always worth a shot porting one without activating and seeing if it works first, and even with a topup getting half price on a this plan would be worth the topup cost.
