  • Great price!

  • Thanks for that, I didn't buy that specific one but found they had D-LINK DHP-1321 POWERLINE NETWORK ROUTER STARTER KIT cheap as well - $58.54 including gst and shipping or $53.18 from Ascent. Going by D-Link site it's a wireless router kit so may appeal to some.

  • FYI: Video of what it is / how it works.

    • Thanks for sharing. Personally I have the TP-Link AV500 and the AV200 previously before that and they are one of the greatest things around. I remember shopping around trying a bunch of routers to get stable wireless in the far room of the house before getting a powerline adapter. No issues with speeds, connectivity, etc. Currently using one for a HTPC on the other side of the house and have no issue streaming 20gb bluray rips.

  • Just had a look, but it is no longer avaliable on their website, must have sold out I guess.

  • I know someone who had something like this, put didn't find it that reliable, with constant disconnections. So wonder if it is really much better than just using wifi. The speeds maybe better, but I guess some things on the supply can cause interference.

    • I think a great deal depends on your wiring. Some people plug them into powerboards, some have surge protectors, power meters and all sorts of other devices. If it doesn't work, flick it off on Trademe.
