We have recently opened a family business out of our office in Levin. Such a location and minimal overheads/costs allows us to cut prices back greatly. I have pondered whether or not it'd be worth posting this, due to potential conflict of interest, since we started the business earlier in the year, but decided that I may be able to help a few members save some money around this time of year and going forward.
Dad is an IRD registered tax agent and qualified accountant with years of relevant (Accountancy, CFO, etc.) experience. I am Xero certified (An IT guy, not an accountant!). Mum is the receptionist, and my wife just takes up an office because she can!
Our sales pitch really is centered around the fact that accountancy has become an industry out of touch with the market, with prices and charges being so far inflated above the service offered that it is lawyer like in the way some people are charged. Put this together with the fact that plenty of individuals and business are struggling, and it can be an easy avenue for some to claw back some outgoings.
So far we have only been servicing clients face to face, which is our preference, but email/phone works for clients in other parts of the country too. We also don't charge for emails or per minute of conversations, like some existing clients seemed to have been being charged for.
I am happy to discuss options privately with anyone, and we are also open to offer a good deal for people/businesses who do not currently have an accountant, but are wanting advice, or services.
That bootstrap default layout :D
Best of luck with this. To clarify, are you offering half price off whatever you'd usually charge? Or whatever the clients current bill is for the same work? And as a one off for the first bill or ongoing? Title isn't especially clear.
