Most stores won't even let you return stuff for change of mind at all, so at least they offer it.

      • Though with the forum Bobs linked to the product was not as advertised where PB Tech would have to return it anyway.

        • I was referring to the receipt photo, not the forum. The person complaining in the forum should have refused to pay the 20% restocking fee and just asked for a refund under the Fair Trading Act.

Definitely PBTech has the worst return policies and processes I saw in NZ.

I bought online a refurbished laptop and paid with a credit card (they added a CC fee to that). I discovered that the Toshiba laptop was water damaged (heavy rust in and around ports on one side). It was an ordeal to return it the next day. First, they refused and told me that rust is normal wear and tear therefore not covered with their warranty. Then after three in store inspections (North Shore) on three different days (and three different "experts") they offered to issue me a store credit because there was no replacement available. I didn't bite and insisted on full refund. I had to drive from North Shore to their Penrose shop for another inspection, and they again tried to give me just a store credit. After loudly arguing in the shop full of customers they caved in and agreed to refund me. At the till the girl issued refund MINUS CREDIT CARD FEE. I again raised my voice and demanded FULL refund as this situation was clearly their fault. The girl went to see somebody in their office and after 10 minutes returned with her supervisor and finally issued full refund. I was never that much po-ed with any other retailer in NZ. I expect that sort of tricks in Shanghai, Hong Kong or Singapore, but not here.

So keep that in mind when ordering from PBTech. If you are in that sort of things if you ask PBTechers to pull their teeth out on the spot instead of a full refund of your money they would happily agree as that's much less painful for them.

Price match it at other stores such as the warehouse or noel leeming ;)

      • Good idea, The Warehouse sell the ChromeCast and offer a 10% Price Beat so you could get it for $40.50!

Not for electronics sadly. If you have the warehouse visa, that'll make it 5% cheaper for all purchases though.

        • @bigbosssnake: ):, They will price match it though.

    • From the terms:

      • Non-faulty product will require a Goods Return Authority, must be in saleable condition, and will be subject to a minimum 20% restocking fee. Freight charges will not be credited under any circumstances.

Not very good as retailers normally have replace faulty products.

      • Not quite sure what you are talking about as that quote clearly talks about non-faulty products, while you then say they aren't very good "as retailers normally have replace faulty products." - which isn't relevant to the quote at all.
