Apply for Any Warehouse Money Visa Card (Fee Free) and Get $50 Warehouse Gift Card

240
WMVCPROMO

Saw this on the bottom of my receipt today, couldn't see it submitted elsewhere on ChoiceCheapies.

"Receive a $50 The Warehouse gift card with any approved, and activated Warehouse Money Visa Card" - see photo of receipt here: https://imgur.com/U6vqBwE

The card is has no annual fees - so if you don't mind the hit to your credit report you can get a gift card for $0 spend. Application takes around 10mins.

You also get 5% off on almost all purchases at The Warehouse if you do plan on keeping the card.

    Nice! Thanks for sharing.

  • Family member applied yesterday! But was declined.

    • What was the reason?

      • Probably too much income. They only want bad debtors I guess.

      • Going to reapply with promo code!!

    • Strange. I was approved at end of application instantly, went for lowest limit available tho. (Currently have another CC with a higher limit but fully paid up).

  • I got this last time, $50 free and 5% off purchases is a good deal :D

  • Ia there an annual fee or any costs for having the card?

    • No annual fee. You don't earn rewards so every time you buy something outside of the warehouse you are donating the interchange fees to Warehouse Money (paying for the card)

    • As Ahmad said, no fee, so assuming you qualify for the card you can get the card wait for the voucher then cancel the card, no spend required either according to the T&C's. Make sure you sign up using the promo code to get the voucher.

  • Could i get this card and never use it but still get the @50 gift card. And more importantly without any fees?

    • Correct

    • The only 'catch' is that I guess you can't then get a Purple Visa from Warehouse if you wanted one. Not a big deal though. The earn rate is pathetic but there are no fees on that card either.

    • As Ahmad said, no fee, so assuming you qualify for the card you can get the card wait for the voucher then cancel the card, no spend required either according to the T&C's.

    • Yes. I got this for my wife and got the $50 free. Warehouse visa for me and purple card for her.

  • how do you activate the card?

    "and (c) activate your card."

    • I believe they just mean load a PIN number although I haven't got a card yet. kiwijunglist may be able to shed some light on this?

    • When you receive your card, go online and register and activate your card via text. If issues persist, give them a call for verifications purposes to verify you that way.

  • ive never had a credit card or taken out any credit. would getting this card and never using this card effect my rating in any way?

  • I suppose being an Aussie I won't be eligible?

    • A New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and living in New Zealand

      • Stink

        • Thought Aussies were automatically PR's?

        • @Shaw: they have to be resident in NZ, not just eligible for same

        • +1

@Shaw: as long as you're able to prove that you have your letters delivered to your nz address, that's sufficient to 'proof' that you're residing in NZ. (even with Oz PR or citizenship.

        • @bigbosssnake:
Cheers will give it a go then.

  • Just orded my card

  • +1

Conditionally approved. I've got an ANZ NZ credit card so I guess I should get this 1. (Actually forgot I had it) cheers fellas

  • I just spent 10 minutes filling the damn thing and it said there was an error and to ring them, it could of at least not reset the page so i could just read all the info from my review to them when i ring

  • they want jp authorised copies of my id? lot of effort

    • When was that requested? I just input my driver's licence details and that was it.

      • Via email an hour or so after applying, automated. I used my NZ drivers license. Potentially they figured out I don't have PR?

    • same as a bank requires etc

  • Applied early, got "we need to call you" then next working day declined without any explanation.

  • Does anyone know how I can redeem my $50 gift card?

I signed up, got the credit card in the post today and activated it this morning. I can't seem to find any gift card?
I did sign up using the code

    • I believe they send it out once the card is activated separately.

    • +1

it will be couriered out to you separately. After 30 days or so.

    • FYI I received my gift card today in the mail. I havent used the credit card at all aside from activating it online.

  • Received and activated my card today - now up to 30 day wait for voucher. Actually quite a handy spare card to have due to it being fee free.

"The gift card will be mailed to the main cardholder's postal address within 30 business days after their card account is fully approved and activated."

  • I do like the Warehouse but Warehouse Money are such amateurs. Both myself and partner striking issues with application when companies usually fall over themselves asking us to sign up for credit.

    • To be honest I got the card with no intention of using it (Still haven't) but I found the application the easiest I have done recently (i.e. entirely automatically online with no phone interaction needed).

I guess YMMV though as with every business.

      • Yes my milage did vary. And it was a lot of miles - wish I got AirPoint Dollars for them!

But in all honesty they will struggle to compete as a financial organisation at this rate.

        • I don't think I could ever bring myself to use it as my main card, like you say even with a positive experience such as mine (or negative like yours) it's hard to take them seriously as a financial organisation.

I guess it reflects that saying the best way to judge a business is how they put things right when there's an issue. And if they're not answering the phone that will be hard ;)

        • It feels a bit like being over-qualified for a job when applying. I think my income level suggests I have no place shopping at the Warehouse.

    • Couldn't agree more. Wait times are too long at the contact centre and they don't respond to emails or queries using the form on their website. They will have trouble competing with the banks.

  • I also had customer service issues. Also they don't email statements you have to login and the online transaction page is confusing and crashes often.

I only user it at the warehouse wouldn't recommend using it as a main card.

  • LOL Warehouse Money is a joke. With the recent fierce competition in the CC market in NZ, they are going to really struggle based on my experiences.

As someone that's held a card with them for probably 15 years (under 'Warehouse Financial Services'), they have been begging me to apply for one of their cards as they form their own financial institution. Yet the CS treats me with contempt - guy got stroppy with me when I was unable to give him the full exact name of the previous card I held with WFS. I mean really FFS, I told him it was a MasterCard and it was with the WFS, and he could see it in front of him but because I couldn't recall the exact name of the product, I failed the security question. I said "does it REALLY matter what the card was exactly called??". He said something like "well wouldn't you know if you were paying it?", and I was like "I paid it religiously and kept it in good standing for over 15 years - I didn't care what the hell it was called - I got a bill and it was paid! For 15+ years!".

Now I'm told that they can't tell me how long it will take to process my credit check and application - possibly a month of more(!).

In other news, my partner barely meets the requirements for a new AMEX Card (thought we would get one to shove it up Warehouse Money), and they are bending over backwards to try and approve it (I won't be surprised if that application is declined in the end but it just goes to show).
