Vodafone Prepay Carry over 19 Combo (with 1GB Data) $9 @ PB Tech

PRCMEFREE

If you're in need of some cheap mobile data from a disposable SIM card (e.g. Dual-SIM phone, 2nd phone, iPad, Kindle, Laptop) PB Tech is selling the Vodafone Prepay $19 Carry-over SIM card at $9, which is about half price. If you activate one before September 4th you'll get an extra 500mb of data, which makes for a total of 1GB. It also includes 100 minutes and unlimited TXTs.

Each SIM card lasts 30 days, so once it expires or you've used up all the data, you can throw it away and open a new one - unopened and un-activated SIM cards technically have an unlimited shelf life. Not quite as good as the $5 2Degree deal or $4 Warehouse Mobile deal, but still a deal nonetheless.

Be sure to use the code for free shipping.

Alternatively Noel Leeming and Parallel Imported are also selling the SIM cards at $10. In case PB runs out of SIM cards.

If you want a Spark $19 Combo SIM instead Parallel Imported has one for $10 with free shipping.

  • Does this work with same phone number?

    • i would say you would have to use the number on the sim , but i could be wrong

    • Yes, also curious as to how 'mobile' (sic) your mobile number can be. Can you easily swap around sim cards, transferring your existing number from one sim card to another?

Ofcouse, the other way you get caught out with this is the non-transferability of monthly data/mins. It is great that most telcos, by force of market preference, now allow you to roll over unused data/mins from one month to the next. But this can also lock you into a particular prepay system if you have accumulated significant excess which would be lost when engaging with another plan. Because of the current inability to transfer this excess between plans.

We object to this because it is service access which has been already paid for. It is 'yours' so you definitely should be able to either transfer that paid content, or receive a rebate for unused service.

But then, ever trying to hold a telco accountable by reasonable consumer expectations has always been a seemingly futile Sisyphean task
