For that kind of money pay a sparkie to run data cabling instead :D

    • lol true , although not really an option for people renting

  • Not sure if they make them look like that because it "looks cool" or if required by design, because it looks like a drone..
Beyond that, I don't quite see the point if it being more than 1300mbit wireless (I understand it could effectively hand 3-4 concurrent devices at 1300mbit) but doing what? Device itself is limited to 1gbit WAN, so the other 3gbit it could theoretically handle would be internal networking and even uncompressed 4k streaming is like 50mbit and apparently the maximum wireless devices this thing can handle is 20…

Seems to me if your paying $500 you'd be better off buying enterprise equipment with better functionality.

Not anything against the deal, it just seems unnecessary.

  • might as well buy commercial routers at this price

  • I wonder how many people actually need another router.

Better off with one of these I reckon: https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-pro/

They are about $290 and are powered via the ethernet cable using POE (comes with the injector too).

Great for letting you keep your router/switch in your data cabinet and having your wireless access point somewhere that makes sense (living space)
