Konic 49" 4K Ultra HD TV - $474 @ Harvey Norman

70

This TV got even cheaper. Discount finishes today. This is cheapest ever 4K I've seen in NZ. Probably similar to the Veons in quality and function I'm guessing at this price.

  • Veon build quality seems quite good, and the UI graphics aren't bad either. You get a real glass stand on some models for example, so they're miles ahead of the previous warehouse Transonics etc.

Konic and Soniq at JB Hifi I wouldn't have thought were as good at the Veons? Veons come with a 3 year warranty for example.

Regardless though, good price for sure. Assume there have an hdmi 2.0 input option? Otherwise you wouldn't be able to feed any 4k content into the unit.

    • I've assumed the brand's Veon and Konic are similar as they have the similar price points. I heard a lot of these cheaper Chinese tvs come with panels from the same manufacturer and are just rebranded for different stores. For example Noel Leemings have a cheaper store brand called 'Platinum'
And I thought they looked like a Veon except silver colour, the lady told me it is basically a rebranded Veon. Which makes sense as Warehouse owns Noel Leeming.

However I did pop into Harvey Norman today to look at the Konic, and it was beside a LG which was a couple of hundred more, but the Konic didn't have good colour reproduction in comparison, it look quite faded.
