Those specs are horrible. The year is 2017, not 2001. Netbooks are supposed to be dead. Windows 7 starter edition anyone? God awful cut down version of Win 7 that had an OS limit of 2GB, and even then, Netbooks struggled to run anything. Open up any modern browser and you'll see typical RAM consumption with a few tabs open will easily consume 500MB+, let alone system processes that'll take up a good chunk of the rest (swapped to the page file).

This PC wouldn't be capable of running anything, as barely more powerful than a Raspberry Pi 3 (with an extra 1gb of RAM).

If you have $200 to spend on a PC, then spend it on an Intel NUC celeron/braswell, as they're much more capable than this.

    • RT lol.. still i know what you mean- but I know a bunch of people who wouldnt even benefit by upgrading this to a i3, 'Eureka it works!' is all that matters.

  • Uh. Buy android

  • You can get a real laptop for that price

As far as I can see none of the comments here are particularly constructive. I own one of these things (as well as an MSI ge60 and a self built desktop PC). When buying anything you need to think about the usage scenario - I have not seen another new laptop form factor device running windows on here for sub $200. Would a nuc be more power for the price,of course but add peripherals and it's not portable. Would an android tablet or phone be better - it might be but there are some things that are done more efficiently with a convention all physical keyboard.

I've had one of these for almost 2 years, purchased for $208 in Australia on the back of an ozbargain post. It is a great portable machine - weighs around a kg, small but decent sized screen and keyboard. Solid state memory and fanless design,10hr+ battery. It even fits in seat back pockets on planes.I use it for inflight movies, netflix, emails, researching my trip, youtube and web tutorials and very light programming when I'm on the go. I can roughly edit (and I emphasize roughly) raw files from my canon 600d on it with a USB SD reader, as well as use it to back up and review my photos to portable external drives. It chugs like hell with 5 tabs open in chrome but what do you expect for 2gb of ram. Being 200 bucks I care less if it gets damaged or stolen. My ge60 was 1600 in Australia and would have been around 2k had I bought it in nz, and it weighs a lot more and is lucky to get 2hrs battery life. It is more capable but do I like to travel with it-hell no. When I'm at home it can output YouTube and Netflix at 1080p to my TV via hdmi or I use it to do emails, reading in bed or on the couch as I find having a physical keyboard that much more efficient than writing with my phone. I think this still has a lot of use cases and I'm happy I got my moneys worth so far. Alternatives would be the dell inspiron 11 3000 @ 319 aud in Australia but I imagine it would cost a lot more here.

    • Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series are listed on Dell Outlet Store with prices starting from $209, if anyone wants an alternative.
