  • whats N3 employee benefits? this looks good, so its cost price to Noel leeming + 5%? surely thats an amazing deal from how i think of it? how much would cost for an S9 be for NL?

    • n3 is like an organization and if your company is a member of it, the employee gets some benefits from n3.
      https://www.n3.co.nz

    • I think you would find s9 to not be an amazing deal. I have never used one of these deals but heard memory cards and stuff behind the counter that gets the big discounts from this

    • Phones and Tablets cost the retailer close to RRP. cost + 5% on these items will probably make the price more than RRP, so it wouldn't be done

  • Variable price benefits dependent on the product - A few years back we bought a fridge on a cost +5% discount and it was a good deal, but looked at washing machines and the discount was very minor/if at all.

    If you read t&c apparently

Average cost reflects the average price of the product including any administration and handling costs, and does include any volume related adjustments.

That basically means it's average sale price?

    • Not average sale price. Average cost price without volume adjustments.

So RRP might be $100. This deal might mean you get it for $90.
If they have a huuge megasale! event, they might by 1000 of the normal RRP of $100, since they buy in bulk they can sell the item for $75 since they got a volume deal from the supplier.

  • Any decent deals from this? Last time there was a cost +5% for NL the prices were higher than their sale prices

    • is it literally a case of asking for the cost price in store?

I've never followed through with any purchases on deals like this. When ever I ask them to give me a cost +5% they go behind the desk, seem to dream up a number and give me that.

My experience is that it's generally a shit deal. Since it's supposedly based on the cost before volume discounts the whole thing is meaningless since they have huge volume discounts.

Maybe low volume items (where they don't get big volume discounts) might be a better deal. Who knows?

We have no real way of finding out the actual 'cost' so it's impossible to find out whether it's a genuine deal.

My advice is to avoid this or do a lot of research prior to going in.

    • I have never bought using this. Pricing not given over phone, in store it wasn't very cheap. A friend was happy with some mid-range headphones. Decent discount.

      • I use N3 regularly, I have always been asked to show my membership card
      • Most discounts seem to be %2-10% off retail
      • Best discounts have been PB-Tech and Bunnings
      • These Noel Leemings deals are not good for big items, usually better to wait for a sale. On small items you might get a better deal
      • Is there any possible way to use N3 at other stores without being under a company who is registered for N3?

  • I don't get it, won't they ask for proof? Isn't it dodgy to pretend to be someone you're not.

    • Thats because the deals aren't really that good.
