United and Air NZ are offering cheap flights to NY for $1155 return. Fares include bags, meals and seats. Flights go to Sydney/Melbourne with Air NZ, then off to San Francisco/LA, then over to NY. Book directly with United. JFK and EWR airports are all quick train rides to Manhattan. LGA is served by a bus but it's much closer to Manhattan so Uber might be better.
