$50 Account Credit on Signup to Energy Club NZ

80
SPRING50

Saw this advertised in the paper again. Energy Club charges you the cost price of electricity and then $5 (or $2.40 for low users) per week to be part of their company.

No contracts AFAIK. They have a price calculator so you can work out if this works out better than Powershop, Flick etc. Good discussion here.

They cover a good portion of NZ including Auckland and Wellington but best to check the map or enter your address.

  • This is a good deal! Currently getting charged 24.62c inc GST per kWh and 35c daily charge with Pulse Energy, and that's after the 3c per kWh discount applied when threatening to leave! With Energy Club NZ it's 24.51c with a similar daily charge. Hurray for the (relatively) competitive electricity market!

  • $50 credit plus a FREE 6 month NZ House & Garden Magazine subscription if you use code POWERCOMPARE50

  • Powershop promised they will be $150 cheaper than Energy Club (in one year) when I threatened to leave. :D

  • Any ideas when these codes expire? Still have credit with powershop. Also be good to know if this is credited straight away or in drips over months. Would be keen to hear from anyone who has done it

    • +1

They've been advertising in the newspaper all year. I'd say you have time.

    • +1

It is credited straight away and is applied to your first bill.

      • Thanks, that's really useful

  • I'm with Electric Kiwi, used the Energy Club calculator, included the units I used during all the free hour of power, and the calculator recommended I don't switch.

So you might want to compare with EK if you haven't already.

    • Yeah I suspect powershop will ultimately be cheaper for us, but since neither have fixed term contracts, would be keen to make most of $50 offer if they credit straight away. I'm tight enough to bother switching (for $50)

  • I am a low-user under 9,500kw per year and got a door-to-door great deal from Pulse Energy (proud Highlanders Sponsors) anyway,my rate is all year at $0.17369 per kw + $0.30 per day!! The Energy Club compared deals and told me to stay with Pulse…great eh?! For once I have got a unbeatable power deal.
Good luck though 'cos after checking out The Energy Club, they offer a very good deal too ;-)

  • You can not beat kiwi electric with their 1 hour free a day…

  • Any electric kiwi sign up bonus? How much are people paying with EK?

    • There's a $50 credit if you use a referral link. The referrer also gets it, so feel free to pm me if you want to use mine.
      26.58 cents per unit
      34 cents per day
And you get a free hour of power to use a day

  • If anyone wanting to come on board with energyclubnz let me know I do have promos that this page does not have

    • You should post a deal then. Any idea if this code SPRING50 is still active?
