Open one in Palmerston North already will ya…

From memory several deals go online for the following cyber Monday sale

One thing I never got with PBTech’s Black Friday sale is it is always a week earlier than it suppose to be

    • That way they're not competing directly against all the overseas Black Friday sales.

      • +1

I guess but we pretty much get them all a day early anyway with our Timezone. And all the other NZ retailers do it the real date. Not complaining it’s just weird

        • +2

i think its a week early because you spend week in line waiting since the deals are that good.

No deal can be worth the massive crowds and smell.

    • +1

They'll have an online one the Monday after.

    • Can always price match to noel leeming and get flybuys points

      • +1

Thats actually quite hard to price match with Noel Leemings on these PB Tech specials. Most of the decently discounted stuff on sale will be "Limited quantity" and the really nice discounted items will also have the "Clearance" tag on them on the online site. PB Tech has always been doing that for their highly discounted bait items for these sales. You could most likely only price match items that do not have an amazing discount. Those tags on items makes sure that you cannot price match with any other retailers as they are always excluded.

Except for that $49 powerbank on sale $15 :)

But seriously, PB Tech sales blow. There will be a couple of bait deals to reel people in, but, other prices will be the usual sale prices.

      • I agree, really not going to queue for 50 minutes to save a little money.

Also very disappointed finding out the Xiaomi store is operated by PB tech.

Yep, I went there 2 years in a row and the lines there was disgustingly long. 1hr + wait times to just get in, then theres the super packed amount of people in the store makes it really hard to get by inside. If you do find anything decently discounted, theres also that super long wait line to check out. Both years I came out empty handed as there was nothing in there worth buying. Those were the good old days when computer lounge actually had 15% off everything discounts, now even computer lounge has been really bad with their discounts as well.

From memory .. the deals are always a bit pants ? (Or an extremely limited quantity)

  • Apple products too?

  • Their online sale afterwards is also great (plus avoid the crowd).

    • Normally a free shipping code appears by now!

    • Same thing, all the good deals but limited quantity are gone within a few seconds and reappear on trademe later.

  • Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 for $69!?

    • That's not even a black Friday deal it's an online deal that's available right now.

Unfortunately it's the on ear ones not the over ear ones. They are a lot worse and pretty uncomfortable after long periods.

  • any good deals on i7 laptops you reckon?

Some Black-Friday deals are pretty bad.

Like Platronics Backbeat Pro 2 $263.35, more expansive than its Labour Day sales ($217.35). I missed out the lowest price deal ($199) so had looked forward to its Black Friday Sales. Too bad.

Sony WH-1000XM3 $399 is a very good deal but over my budget….

Anything that PBTech has on "special" is worth running through PriceSpy first just to verify that it's not bullshit.

Off topic, but i just got Noel Leeming to match PBTech's Cyber Monday price on the Apple watch of $505 (before the sale had started and in a different colour than PB had in stock) then used the $10 Welcome code, $495 for the 3rd gen 42mm.
