Sengled LED Smart Bulbs (Colour Changing, E27, B22) from $5 @Bunnings

70

Cheap smart bulbs, many options available.

One I bought for $10 was usually $22. Some very good bargains there.

Just note that the $10 Element smart bulbs require a hub to function, however the wifi ones do not.

I would stay away from the battery backup bulb, these bulbs get real hot and I wouldn't want a lithium battery in there.

    • Why are they getting hot? LEDs get warm at best.

      • Normally the heatsink on an LED bulb get 60 to 100 Degrees hot. It can get hotter depending on where you install it.

        • One of the main causes of early failure for LED bulbs is the sheer heat, causing the solder to literally melt. The higher the wattage in a confined space, the more heat.

@Avantime: The makers save money by using less heatsinking metal in that confined space. So yes, the LEDs SHOULD be running warm at best, but in practice they are run HOT to the benefit of the seller (< cost) and detriment of the buyer (< life).

  • "Free cloud storage" on the IP camera bulb = you are the product.

Seriously, don't help China train their behaviour recognition to work in NZ.

    • Yes, you are the product; like Facebook, Google, Apple etc. Or you have problem only with China tracking you?

      • Oh yeb, unfortunately we have to pick a team now. Uncle Sam or Ghina.

        • Ghana sounds fine.

  • Are these wifi? The $5 ones

    • Not the 10 nzd onces are smart type

  • Got the sensor type works really well will see how it goes

    • Those se sor type work well outdoor also. Better than ones from aliexpress.

      • Sengled are ip20 rated not very weather resistant , I have mpow solar lights at my house they are extremely good they have hight quality solar cell on it and lithium battery turns on when some one goes near and is very bright , in China it's more like brand and you get what you pay , generally major brands are cheap and very good

  • I just got the wifi bulb for $10. Unfortunately it still requires a hub to connect to wifi. Not sure if I received the correct product. Requested clarification from Bunnings. Will update once I receive their reply.

    Cheers.

  • Does anyone know if you can get E14 connector smart bulbs anywhere for sengled? I'm considering these but things like bedside lamps all use E14 caps so not going to bother if I can't do more of our fittings.
