wonder how many orders they get….. more so the reason why not every good idea is a good business! website looks like a fair bit of work has gone into it though.
Dunno but these 3 US sites still seem to be around after 5 years https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/jan/26/mystery-p…
At the time, one of the US websites was doing 25-50 orders a day with $10000-20000 in sales a month.
Or look here
https://www.dailydot.com/unclick/send-a-potato-through-the-m… which also seems to be from 2016. I think 7 out of 10 of those websites still seem to be working. So I assume for most of them, they're getting enough orders of their potatoes and whatever else they're doing so they're still doing business, even if it's potentially not a full time gig. (But I don't know.)
There are a whole lot more if you do a search. Of course the US is a much bigger market than NZ but we don't have 20 other competitors (I think).
I am surprised that one of them can ship to Australia. Would have thought random raw potatoes fail biosecurity regulations in major ways. Maybe they're using a local supplier?
Nah mate.
