TP-Link HS110 Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring - $29.90 @ Bunnings (in-store only)

70

Best price I've seen for these.

These plugs connect to your home network via wi-fi, and can be controlled by the TP-Link Kasa app, or through Google Assistant or Alexa.

You can setup timers for them or, if you also have a Kasa camera on your network, make it so they activate whenever movement is detected.

This particular model is also able to monitor the energy consumption of the attached device(s), and will keep a running tally for a month.

These are only available in-store, so check stock levels first if you're interested in buying one.

Looks a good price. If Bunnings are out of stock, JB HiFi are 10c more at $30.

Or you can price match at Noel Leeming for FlyBuys.

I have a couple of these already and they are useful for remotely turning things on and off (pool pump!) but I'm not sure how accurate the electricity usage stats are.

Ah, this price will be in response to JB then, because they were higher when I checked them last week.

Yeah I also have a bunch of these and they work so well. If I do have a complaint it's that their bulbous shape means they encroach on nearby sockets if used in powerboards or double points

The Lenovo ones are two for $40 at JB - are they comparable? https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/cameras/connected-home/lenovo/lenov…

I've never used them but have seen a lot of bad reviews

I have one. It is Tuya based so the same as the Arlec one referenced below. The functionality is the same and you can use the Tuya or Smart Life app instead of the Arlec or Tuya app.

It works fine, and compared to the Arlec I think the Lenovo shell is a little higher quality.

      • the lenovo design looks better, but i like the tp link and arlec ones because they have a manual button so you can quickly turn them on without the app too.

        • Lenovo also has a manual button.
Arlec also has a separately controlled double plug which I like.

  • i use the arlec ones and they work great. bit cheaper as well.

Plug, can you please update your name to 'Smart Plug'?

  • I use the Sonoff ones. Got them for $17 including shipping each on black friday sales.
