Brother P-Touch Label Maker PTH110 $28 ($8 after $20 cashback) @ Noel Leeming

290

Seriously good deal if you are after a label maker. Currently available at Noel Leeming for $29 and price spy is also showing multiple retailers selling at the similar price. I personally prefer Noel Leeming since you can do a free click and collect and is also one of the listed sellers for Brother cashback.
$20 Cashback offer is valid from 18-31 January and must be redeemed by 14 Feb 2021.

Brother cashback link below:

From past experience Brother normally pays the cashback amount into your bank account within 5 days.

Edit: Sold out at Noel Leeming but lot of stock everywhere else with price ranging from $29 to $29.95. Harvey Norman still selling the white version for $29 so will be $9 aftercashback.

  • You might need to correct it to "redeem by 14 Feb 2021" instead of Jan.

    • Fixed thanks!

  • Brother used to give $30 cashback, making the final price -$1.

"Here's your dollar and your label printer! have a nice day!"

I used the zip coupon for new members so got 2 for $38. Once I get the cash back they'll have cost be -$2.

      • Which coupon is this? I can't find any current Zip promos.

        • I did a search for "zip" on Cheapies. Looks like it's a new merchant or a new payment method. I'm guessing he signed up as a new member on Zip's website.

        • +1

When I added the label maker to my cart and went to checkout there was this banner above my cart "$20 off your first Zip purchase over $50 online! Select Zip as your choice of payment method below. Create a Zip account and enter ZIP20 in Zip checkout."

          • @Stoic: Sweet, found it. UBlock was protecting me from this deal :P

            Cheers!

      • can you do cash back for 2 of them?

        • +2

Yes you should be able to

          • @Stoic: wicked just got 2 of them

          • @Stoic: Works on the serial number so you should be able to, I had difficulty submitting the file for the invoice, one call to their help center sorted it though.

@graham: I had the same problem. Didn't like the jpg so I just made it into a pdf and it was fine.

They will get you on the labels. Just like ink cartridges, high markup. Thankfully Ebay/Aliexpress have our back!

    • +3

Just make sure you order it 2-3 months before you need it. Thanks, Ports of Auckland.

Not after one. But will get one.

    • This. Showed deal to my partner and within five minutes, she had bought the pink version from WHS.

    • The Cheapies motto

  • Contemplating getting one. The possibilities…

I've got a few of these from previous deals, I recommend anyone seriously wanting to use them to buy two and then buy a set of tapes from China.
That way you don't need to swap the tapes (different colours, etc.) when using multiple colours or types of tape (iron-on, flexble, etc).

    • Do you have a link to a good place to get the tape?

      • just got to aliexpress and search 'TZe laminated' and then filter by order numbers. Should then give you the most reliable seller

Also worth buying a power supply (i got mine from china, although people may cringe at that),
    These things chew through batteries.

    • I've noticed that. I wonder if they drain them at rest, because it doesn't seem like a labelmaker requires the heat of a thousand suns.

      • I used my on a benchtop power supply at some point and it was peaking 8w during printing and next to nothing idling.

    • Which PSU did you get, can you provide a link? Cheers

      • +3

        I got this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000807939111.html
Main thing is brother use a Centre Negative supply (whereas 95% of things are center positive) so if you have a 9v 1.6a (or more regulated) at home, double check that before plugging in.

        • PSU is expensive than the printer :)

          • @ace310: Yea unfortunately. Have gone through 12 batteries without much printing so bit the bullet.
Been handy labelling all the pantry containers.

  • Terms says only 1 claim allowed. So how are you guys going to claim for 2 printers?

    • +2

1 claim per product purchased(ie so you can't submit 2 claims for 1 purchase). In the past with this same promo brother have confirmed you can buy multiple units and claim for each one.

    • i bought 2 because i got the $20 off with the zip thing, so i will get $20 cash back for 1 so paying $18 for 2 of them is good for me

      • +2

Claim for both of them. I've just submitted my claim for 2 and they've both been approved within an hour.

        • ive submitted both but they say they are rejected on the brother website, they have asked for my e-receipt so i just forwarded them my NL email as i didn't get a physical receipt in store

          • +1

@choniesbum: I took a screen shot of my e-receipt and just submitted that as part of the process.

          • +2

@choniesbum: You can save your e-receipt as pdf and send it.

    • It says 1 claim per eligible product so I went with warehouse stationery, used zip, and price matched

      So I got 1 Black, and 1 white for $57-$20 = $37 delivered

Hopefully Ill get $40 cashback so $-3 for 2 delivered since they are considered different products on the list

      • Did it get approved for both?

        • +1

          Yep, money came through yesterday

  • any store with free shipping?

    • $29.90 on TheMarket. You can get free shipping if you have Club membership there (free with a Vodafone SIM card) and add more items to hit $45 total

      • does cashback work with the market?

        • I've just contacted to Brother customer support.

"You will still be eligible for the cashback purchasing the machine through that retailers provided you retain a proof of purchase."

        • The Market isn't listed in the retailers when you go to make a claim. I just selected Warehouse Stationery (as I bought from them via The Market), will see how it goes

  • Had this model for a few years and really like it. If you need the refills a bit quicker trade me usually sell them for around 10 bucks .

  • +1

    $28 now

  • Does it come with (even a sample size) of each tape type? Couldn't see a mention of what tapes were included on the NL link.

    • +1

      includes 4metre durable tape :)

      • Thanks!

  • FYI:

Tape refills from Brother are $25-30 each and 12m (lots of labels).

Tape refills from AliExpress are $2-3 each and there is no perceivable quality difference and mountains of colours.

You can also get rechargeable AAAs for cheap on Ali (it takes 6) or a power adapter (it doesn't come with one).

Regardless of whom you are, having one of these makes life infinitely easier around 5 times a year, but not enough to justify the $30 tape cost.

    • Interested to know how it makes life easier. What are some examples?

      • My pantry is very well labelled.

      • +3

I have two mini versions of these on the wall for my components:
        https://www.topmaq.co.nz/storage/storage-bins/28-bin-storage…

It's easier to know what is in them, and because of the label type they peel off easy when I need to change it.

I use it to label my beer bottles when I make homebrew, again they peel off without hassle when I reuse them. I also have a Dymo label printer, but good luck getting those off a beer bottle when you're done without wasting your time scrubbing the adhesive and paper off.

I have little boxes full of a range of seeds, and the labels are on the box, rather than a free floating piece of paper saying what the seeds are that is always lost.

        My seedlings are labelled.

My black containers of nails are labelled so I don't have to open them to find out what's in them and so on and so forth. The most valuable part is the plasticy material and medium adhesive makes taking them off again easy.

99% of the year it's not used, but when I need it, it's the best solution.

      • Once I put sugar in my roast instead of salt. If only I had used my label n maker and labelled the container correctly (true story - was wondering why my roast tasted sweet).

        • I liked to think I could tell spices apart, but after putting five spice instead of cinnamon in a cake, I started labelling them.

    • Cheers for the commendations, having a hard time finding the right AU plug power adaptor on Ali though.

      • I'll have a look when I'm home tonight, I haven't actually bought one but I've seen them before.

I haven't actually charged my AAAs yet and it hasn't yet died so I stopped caring about the power adapter after I got those.

Edit: Someone posted one up the thread.

  • Does this model do fabric tape? Any tape links for Ali please

  • Looks like product has been removed from Noel Leeming. Both The Market and PB tech have it for 29.90 if anyone is still looking.

    • & Warehouse Stationery, Paper Plus (+ 5¢)

  • Can anyone recommend some rechargeable AAA batteries from Ali?

  • You can get the AAA batteries for cheap from Kmart, like a 20 pack one for $8 or something like that. Or from Bunnings.

Or get one of these, which is actually cheaper on TM than from Aliexpress surprisingly:
