  • Was wondering if supercheap would have a good discount soon because I am eyeing up the Eufy camera 2C kits: https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/eufy-eufy-wireless-1080p-…
Somehow the discount is only 20% off $499 but maybe that is as good as it gets for this product.

I'll ask on OzBargain and see if anyone knows what's up. $399 AUD + discount if you know anyone in Oz that can send it to you.

They fixed that code. it's now 25%. I just got a set.

  • $374.25 with free postage is pretty good deal. I've paid $390 at Noel Leeming a few months ago. They had 25% off last time which was probably a better deal but there's only a few dollars in it

Just recalculated it's obviously more than 20% on the security system.

    • Gday. Whats your take on these units after a few months of use? Im keen, but not sure if I should bite the bullet (simple home use).

      • I've purchased and used these eufy cameras for a few months before changing to arlo essential cameras , just be aware things that are advertised features like being able to use the base's usb for external storage won't work and never will, in my own experience a full charge only lasted about a month also but this was with 40-50 recordings a day, and motion detection worked well but also there were days it would detect/record nothing even if someone was right in front of the camera, it became too unreliable for me so i returned to super cheap auto

    • How is the detection AI? And overall feedback on this?

Edit: 4-pack 2c comes out to $674.25. Don't forget cashback.

      • Cashback for supercheap. Who though?

        • Cashrewards has 5% capped at $15 max

          • @ace310: That's the aussie site though. I didn't think you could use that for nz supercheap. I have used it for booking.com and wotif but thought thst was about it for nz users

            • @Avatar: Haven't used with Supercheap, but doesn't hurt to try it either.

              • @ace310: I don't think it works. Wotif and booking are gobal site that just change the currency you pay in. Supercheap and other sites on cashrewards are .com.au so will not work as far as I am aware

Battery life anything from two months to 6 months depends how many times you log into each camera, I have one camera mounted in my garage which is still going after seven months but needs recharging soonI am using mine quite often because it's at my batch. I have two of these wireless cameras and security light camera which is hardwired and has internal memory. Picture quality is reasonable and response time is quick. It's a better system than arlo (I have the old arlo at home and that came with a free cloud storage. The new ones you pay for) because there are no cloud fees it has its own internal storage which is plenty, and you can record video on to your phone if you want to.

    • Likewise my old arlo pro 2 was OK but a bit annoying on the app slowness to view the stream after an alert. Without storage for clips the newer versions would in such cases be worthless. One of the cameras then killed itself on a firmware update after 25 months, Noel Leeming honoured the CGA and gave me a full refund. So I will try Eufy cameras and hope they perform a little better.

    • I thought the footage is recorded on the hub, not the camera, so it doesn't matter how many times you connect to it - battery-wise. However, it only starts sending data when there's movement, so in locations with a lot of movement, the battery will go down quicker. Am I right on thinking like that?

      • +1

Yes, all the recordings are in the hub except for the security light which has its own 4GB memory which is not part of the hub. Two things, when it detects an object or person as movement the camera uses power to transfer the video to hub, when you use live video, it uses quite a bit of power from the camera and that's why people can have mixed results on power usage. My cameras are working twenty-four seven at my batch but at home only when we leave the property.

  • In case anyone is wondering regarding 16gb Storage on Eufy home base 2, likely there won't be an update to support external devices.

So, I am holding off on the purchase.

I have had the Eufy 2C 3 camera set since February this year and charged one of the cameras about a month ago, pretty good considering it was being triggered fairly regularly (20 times) by the neighbours family of felines and our cars coming/going.

The other 2 cameras were about 50% battery life as a comparison and they were being triggered about 3 times a day.

Video quality is decent during the day. Night video is ok for the price.

Have had to clean the lens once so far as they are fully exposed to the elements so dust and debris had settled one them

App is pretty decent, depends on your internet connection. There is a slight lag with recording when I tried to run past it, caught me just as I was about to leave the frame. Not bad for a wireless system. If you want 24h recording, better quality and no lag, get a wired system.

  • Has anyone managed to checkout?
I have tried now 4 times, been charged (pending on my bank) all 4 times - two different banks, two different cards. 1 CC, 1 Debit Card.

SCA telling me my bank is rejecting payments..and actually their system can't even find a record for one of the charges. Just trying to buy myself a damn Eufy doorbell! D:<

  • I didnt think the coupon expired until midnight tonight - Coupon code "SPENDANDSAVE" cannot currently be added to your cart.

Code didn't work for me either this morning. Had to contact chat and now works. However still having same checkout issue as yesterday where it takes my payment but keeps telling me the order has failed. Now waiting on 6 x reversals on my card lol…
