The Low Quantity Thread

Limited Quantity

If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description. If the quantity is too small then your deal may be removed. As a guideline, less than 10 quantity of items is not enough for a deal unless the item has a high price.

This is the thread for these deals.

  • Samsung HW-Q990C/XY ex-display stock for just $1327 (+$89 shipping if not local collect) @ Heathcotes.

Might potentially be possible to try price-matching at NL to skip the $89 shipping charge, but they have the Q990C as a special order item and their T&Cs may not match ex-display stock so would come down to getting lucky with the staff member.

This is the second best price Cheapies has ever seen on these, and the previous one was Heathcotes too at $1298 which was likely a pricing error at the time, so a pretty good deal. In the low quantity thread as I'm assuming the ex-display stock means there's only one or two, but I don't think I can check their actual stock levels.

    • OOS

  • Orbi RBK752 $399 + shipping. $600+ elsewhere.

    https://coolmobile.net.nz/products/netgear-orbi-wifi6-high-p…

They only allow people to buy one at a time. It will show oos once someone buys it. Just keep refreshing the page from time to time and the stock will come back sometime.

    • Why are they so expensive normally?

      • These ones are typically for people on hyperfibre with multi gig speeds.

        • That's not true. It is more to do with how multiple devices are connected and to achieve maximum performance. It only has 1gb lan ports so there is no way you can utilize multi gig speed.

Also, remember all good features like parental controls, security all are now behind monthly subscription. As far as I know you can't have a separate 2.4ghz network, atleast that was the case 2 years back.

          Look into Asus rather.

          • @ace310: Can you recommend a router that has good parental controls thats dosnt require a subscription?

            • +1

@Avatar: Deco X20 work well for us (free from One NZ)

            • +1

@Avatar: I have Asus ax-gt6000 which has very good parental controls, but most of them have almost similar controls. Also as mentioned above some of the tp-link models especially deco ones are good as well.

Edit: Look up here to find what you are looking for. Very good non-bias reviews.

    • Decent range on em. That's the modem I got with Slingshot.

      • I believe Slingshot has lower model than this unless they changed it.

        • Could be right. Might be the Orbi RBR350

      • The one they charge $5pm for?

      • Are you still with Slingshot? Skinny putting their prices up and Slingshot are still matching the fastconnect price. Do you pay $5pm for the modem rental?

        • +1

Yes. I pay $70/month ($65 + $5). Signed up prior to that Fast Connect post on here.

          • @Wakrak: You should pay $65 per month as the fast connect deal was for $60 per month.

I also have the rbr350 and a satellite. Electric Kiwi used to give away the modems for free on their no contract broadband plan so I was able to sign up and get the free modem to upgrade my WiFi to a mesh system. They also sold the satellites for $100. I used to have quite a few more and sold them online for $150. I think I also got 2 months free when I joined.

            • @Bill: Yes. $65 + $5 for the modem.

              • @Wakrak: I mean the fibre should cost $60 + $5 for the modem.

I pay $60 per month with no rental.

                • @Bill: If you joined via Fast Connect or similar plan, yes. The plan I went with is $65 + $5 for the modem per month.

                  • +1

@Wakrak: Sorry I misread what you wrote.

Signed up prior to that Fast Connect post

I thought you meant Signed up to that prior Fast Connect post

I also signed up for the $65 plan but called up slingshot and changed plans.

                • @Bill: I just signed up for the exact same. $60/month, no modem rental.

                  • @Joshyss: Good to know it's still running

            • @Bill: @Bill: Do you use parental controls or even basic device timing features on the RBR350? Have had no luch with the basic ORBI app.

              • +1

@victor47: I don't use them but I would go on the gateway to access those features. I'm pretty sure they are on there if I remember correctly.

                • @Bill: Thanks Bill, will check that out.

Some smart watches in clearance. HUAWEI WATCH GT3 46mm Classic (Brown) for example, $97

    https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/collections/clearance-sale-on-smart…

    • Just be wary about how long these have been sitting on the shelf, as I think it affects the battery. Bought headphones on clearance from JB Hifi that am I currently waiting for refund for, as they wouldn't hold charge :(

      • Is that from this deal or a different product?

        • Yep those ones! So definitely wasn't the only one it happened to

    • Thanks for posting. They had an apple watch se with cell access there for $157 which was great value considering an apple strap is $90 by itself. It is an older model se, but my current apple watch is still working from 2016, but I use it just to maintain fitness . The still have the series 6 in red for $227, but I don't think I could handle wearing a red watch every day.

      • Just been told they have cancelled my order because it was reserved to another customer. Don't know how that could happen. Now all the apple models are sold out so can't even select another.

        • The $157 Apple Watch SE was available online this morning, even though it showed sold out the other day, but it wouldn’t go through to checkout.

          • @Sadie: I did get an order confirmation email yesterday afternoon saying it was accepted and the amount debited from my credit card. But today was told that they had cancelled the order saying that it was reserved by another customer in the store. I see some other apple watches have appeared tonight when they had previously sold out yesterday and had disappeared, including this red one so I am not sure what they are playing at https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/products/apple-watch-series-6-40mm-…

            • @nzmax: I can add 5 red Apple Watches to my cart, so I don’t think their stock is accurate..

              • @Sadie: Yes it seems very odd. I could order the red Series 6 model but it will likely get canceled.

    • +1

Thanks so much for posting OP! Both Apple Watches arrived today, great bargain!

      • What model did you get?

        • Series 6, one in 40mm and the other in 44mm

          • @Is2u: Thanks. Was the 40mm one $227 as trying to work out if the red version is a good deal or not considering age.

            • +1

              @nzmax: They were both $197

This deal from last month is even better now - https://www.cheapies.nz/node/46762

Xbox Series S (White) + 24 Month Game Pass Ultimate Bundle $479
Delivery out of stock, pickup only @Spark stores
    https://www.spark.co.nz/online/shop/products/xbox125033spo/

At the time of this deal going live, Game Pass Ultimate was $21.95/m, which means $526.80 for 2 years. The Xbox alone is $549 RRP normally selling in stores for $450-$500 on special.

As of Wednesday this week, Game Pass Ultimate went up to $28.95/m, which makes it $694.80 for 2 years, a huge increase.
Also, this version of Game Pass includes Game Pass for PC, xCloud streaming (play Xbox games on Steam Deck/Tablet) and Console pass. It also still includes Day One releases for the next 2 years, e.g Call of Duty Black Ops 6 in November. The new Game Pass Standard $21.95/m launching in September will NOT include Day One releases.

If you were ever on the fence for locking in Game Pass for 2 years, now is the absolute time.

EDIT: Also to confirm I purchased this deal from a Spark store on Thursday this week outright with no active Spark NZ connections or accounts, so they definitely sell it outright and not on interest free terms.

    • Nice analysis

    • Yes got one outright when the deal was posted. Note they charge a fee for credit card payments but not for zip payments. You can't get the xbox x without a spark account though as they link the gamepass to your spark account email. At least that is what I was told

    • No stock in auckland it seems, someone please let me know if they see some stock!

Not sure when it expires or how much stock. Says its only the packaging that's damaged.

Note: It also says serial numbers are removed per contract w/ LG, so im not sure how that goes

    • Only 1 in-stock OP (says just above the price)

    • +1

iirc its something odd like they purchase/repair damaged units from LG and LG requires the serial number to be removed for resale(so LG won't service the warranty, only applianceoutlet). Best to confirm it with them before purchase if interested.

      • Im tempted, but I think given burn in etc and wanting to use this for a monitor, Im not sure not having warranty and having shonky cga cover is worthwhile
