  • This machine got some good comments when it was posted last month
I'm not a coffee expert so can only go off what others have said.

    • Yeah it is a great machine, worth the purchase if you are drinking coffee most days.

  • +2

Technically was cheaper before this price drop, via price beat with Folders at $739 (would be $665 at Briscoes after price beat)

    https://folders.co.nz/products/breville-the-barista-express-…

Since this flash sale is only on today at Briscoes, I'd actually wait until this promo is over and do the price beat the next day. It's been $739 at Folders for a while now. Regardless, still a good deal though!

  • A good machine we have had one for a few years. Better then the one with the digital display.

  • Thanks for the share! I am very tempted!!

    • You can occassionally get it down around the ^$650 ish mark, but even at $699 its a great price. Hands down the best coffee machine Ive ever bought in this pricerange. Its a bit more work than your nespresso's etc, but totally worth it.

      • I paid 629.10 back in October 2020 when the market were still doing 10% off coupon codes….

    • I got mine at the start of the pandemic and it was a life saver. Another bonus for me is that I think my coffee's are comparable to what I can buy on the street so with a good travel mug, i rarely fork out $6 anymore. In 3 months i've pretty much covered the machine price since i have one in the morning and take one to work with me. So so good.

  • I recently got the one similar to this but has some automatic features and can confirm it's a great coffee machine, makes some awesome coffee!

  • Does anyone think a 12 month warranty for something at this price point (RRP $1100) is a bit short? Would have thought 24 months for something like this?

    • I agree with you here. I personally wouldn't worry since the CGA would cover you for at least a few years in my opinion (assuming you've followed the manufactures maintenance recommendations).

    • +2

In my experience with Breville. Claims for parts/breakage etc even outside of the standard warranty have been great. We had a toaster die 3 years after purchase with an electrical issue and they arranged a replacement with minimal fuss.

    • Can be hit and miss, even when the product is at fault with a part designed to wear out just after 12 months (e.g their older version dose control grinders with plastic impellers instead of metal) they wouldn't provide replacement parts or repair.

      • Had mine for… Roughly 7 years. Still going strong.

        • You will probably find your one is the metal impeller version then (or you barley use it). My comment is on the old dose control grinder model from a few years back.
