      Wakrak'd! 🤣

FYI, that free shipping code for PBTech has been active for months now. I've used it all the way from I think December last year or at the very least around February this year, till now.

You can also get the Cheapies browser extension installed. When you browse to a site (e.g. PBTech), click on the Cheapies extension and it'll show you all of the coupons available for that site. Saves you from having to browse to Cheapies and search for it.

      • I literally have the cheapies extension running in Firefox. Just didn't think. Clearly need another coffee :) Fortunately the closest branch is just a few min down the road.

  • This or the RGB ones,?

From my experience, RGB ones are fun, but practically, you have no real use for them (kids may like them for longer?)
My favourites (like these) allow you to change from cool to warm lights. And LED over anything else.

One possible practical use of the RGB ones would be if you're into reducing blue light at night (as blue light can keep you awake more). But it's minimal, IMHO.

      • Reviews aren't great on this one

indeed, but looks like they didn't read the description. One is complaining it doesn't do RGB colours (Facepalm).

      • I have one of the Xiaomi RGB ones in a lamp next to my bed. Looks like they're also on special
        https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/BULMIX24994/Xiaomi-Mi-Home-…

They're great for reducing blue light in the evening or as mood lighting ;)

      • The RGB colours are also a lot duller than the white

    • also looks like the smartvue ones at the market are out of stock :/

  • I bought these last time they were on sale (same price). They are ok but not that bright. App is responsive. Can't change to bright white, only different levels of warm white. Frustratingly I can't change them to auto dim at night, just auto turn off and on. If anyone knows how, feel free to holla at me!

Could you create a ‘schedule’ with your dim settings and schedule the time for the dim light to switch over then?
Not quite as auto as you would need to specify when it occurs and/or turns off

      • Hey that's good thinking, thank you I will give that a shot :)

  • I have picked up yeelight ones few weeks ago with similar prices (non-bundled) which is brighter and works with Mi app (yeelight is the sub brand of Mi).

    • Where can you get them for similar price?

    • Got mine, installed. They're actually Yeelight anyway (at least they detect as such in the Mi app)

One problem is that the Google Home / Xiaomi integration is screwed. Lots of issues online and I've had issues in the past. However, they're also accessible with the Yeelight app which can be used for integration.

  • I have the RGB version of these , 8 of them in our lounge and kitchen. I can say I am really happy with them. They don't flicker like a lot of consumer LED do and haven't ad any connection issues and they have been set up just over a year now. I control them via the Google home app, you loose some of the functionality by going throught the home app and we like to control them by voice command. I could say that the only warm white ones will look quite dimmed and that going into cool white and daylight color tones will really ramps the perceived brightness of these.

    • Nice review, that's why I always tend to get yeelight ones as they're always brighter. Tech gadgets from China are great quality compare to others, having few Mi devices running for years (temperature sensor, camera, door bell etc).

They are selling on their website for $9.89 each.

    • Gotta pick up for that price though
