Before anyone asks, the hospo code is $367.28 so cheaper on this deal.

$10 off $50 code works on it

    • Nice. I tested the other codes but forgot about that one.

  • I know very little about these so could anyone explain if single layer is of any concern for a beginner? Lots of other discounted ones on T7 and I see double layer mentioned in the descriptions.

single layer construction makes it more susceptible to puncture or leakage (not normally an issue if you care for it well)
It also counter-intuitively makes the sup thicker and typically anything that is single layer is usually quite thick (at least 15cm)
Finally, single layers have a softer squishier feel to them, almost bouncy. As you start to git good you will want a board that is rigid and strong as anything quishy under your feet makes it feel unresponsive. I guess i'd describe it as trying to run on sand vs firm ground. Its possible, and you can still move quick, but it just takes a little extra effort.

Above this, you start getting construction thats either dual/double layer, or fusion. This offers around 2-6cm savings in thickness, a much more rigid board, and make it less prone to leakage or puncture

Depends on your use case and budget. For or a board that you will use maybe half a dozen times a year for a short 1 hour paddle then I would save my money and get the basic one (like this $350 one or the $99 Kmart one might be an option but i've never looked into it so no idea on the quality)

      • Thank you, that is incredibly helpful!

Drop stitch construction is very different to standard single layer build. It allows much higher inflation pressure thus making this type the most rigid foldable board/kayak. I would rate foldable paddle board/kayak: standard single layer < multi layer < drop stitch.

  • Kmart had a similar best way SUP for $99 on black Friday last year

    • I can't seem to find any bestway one. Was it definitly an inflatable SUP they were selling? or just a cheap solid/foam one?
The Warehouse have this non-inflatable one

Kmart have some generic no-brand thing like this one or this one

      • Was a Bestway hydroforce or something like that. Was definitely Bestway as I thought it was odd Kmart were selling that brand

        • ah yup, looks like its $550 at trade-tested so if its the same one, then $99 is a bargin!
