  • Mine arrived & assembled from the previous deal. Happy with the product but will prob upgrade the breaks to larger rotors & quad piston.

Mountain bike upgrades… It's a slippery downhill section

    • For a bike in this price range and what you are getting, it is what it is. I have the 27.5 so the brakes are more efficient than the 29er. I'm just going to take the hacksaw to those handlebars and lob of 100mm. My only observations not criticisms are could have had 180mm front rotor, the handlebars way to wide, and the quick release rear axle is a bit naff. My bike came fully assembled by evo and they did an excellent job as well.

      • The brakes are well good for a hardtail. Perhaps a bleed and clean of the rotors and pads might be needed.
The handle bars are average but not expensive to upgrade and long bars is normal for new bikes, just cut them to size. And the seatpost clamp.. yeah that's bad, but not expensive either.

        • The only fault I could really find was you needed a hex tool to remove the rear wheel. Which could be a problem if you were trying to squeeze it into a car one day and you forgot the hex tool. Nothing wrong with the brakes they are very good I only noticed the difference when I rode my bike which has 220 mm Front rotors.

          • @pdevonporf: A lot of modern mountain bikes bikes require a hex tool to remove the rear wheel these days.

      • also regarding your quick release, hit it with a bit of oil or lube/grease and it will work much better.

        • Probably shouldn't of said it was a fault but more of an inconvenience. I have three other bikes, DT Swiss, a trek thru axle camlock. It seems that they are all going that way because it's a cheaper and simpler way of manufacturing because there's no adjustment needed on the bike chassis or the tru-axle to orientate the lever. I'll just get a small hex tool and mounted to the bike, I'm not spending $100 on a DT Swiss Thru-Axle
